Sin embargo, la divisi\u00f3n de Energ\u00eda, que tambi\u00e9n incluye el negocio de bater\u00edas con Tesla, registr\u00f3 su primer beneficio operativo en tres trimestres con 131 millones de euros.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>La empresa japonesa cita la disputa comercial entre EE.UU. y China como motivo de la rebaja de las previsiones, que ha provocado la ca\u00edda de la demanda de componentes de automoci\u00f3n y equipamiento para f\u00e1bricas, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>En detalle, Panasonic prev\u00e9 un beneficio de 385.000 millones de yenes (unos 3.060 millones de euros) para el a\u00f1o fiscal 2018\/19 que finaliza en marzo. El objetivo original era de 425.000 millones de yenes (unos 3.380 millones de euros). El beneficio operativo del \u00faltimo trimestre (de octubre a diciembre) cay\u00f3 un 19% hasta los 97.600 millones de yenes (unos 777 millones de euros).<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed pues, aunque el trimestre parec\u00eda un poco sombr\u00edo, comparativamente, el negocio de las bater\u00edas, por otro lado, cumpli\u00f3 y gener\u00f3 dicho beneficio por primera vez en tres trimestres. Esto se debi\u00f3, entre otras cosas, a que la asociaci\u00f3n con Tesla dio algunos frutos. \"Las ventas y los beneficios del negocio de Tesla han mejorado\", afirma el director financiero Hirokazu Umeda. However, Umeda was already forecasting profits from October due to then getting production of the Tesla Model 3 up to speed. This forecast has now been met. And according to CFO Hirokazu Umeda, additional production lines are to be installed in the Gigafactory in Nevada by the end of March, increasing the total capacity of the plant to 35 GWh.<\/p>\n<p>No decision has yet been made as to whether Panasonic will also supply battery cells to Tesla&#8217;s China plant. Only recently there were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/01\/22\/lishen-may-supply-cells-for-teslas-plant-in-china\/\">rumours<\/a> that Lishen could be switched in as a potential cell supplier for the Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>And while Tesla may be Panasonic&#8217;s brightest spot, for now, the Japanese continue to reach out to other carmakers as well, most notably Toyota.
