El fabricante alem\u00e1n de autom\u00f3viles deportivos y el especialista chino en bater\u00edas mantienen \"buenas conversaciones\", seg\u00fan el director de desarrollo de Porsche, Michael Steiner, que se re\u00fane regularmente con la direcci\u00f3n de CATL.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mientras que Volkswagen, la empresa matriz de Porsche, ya ha seleccionado a CATL como uno de sus principales proveedores, Porsche conf\u00eda en las c\u00e9lulas del fabricante surcoreano LG Chem en su primer modelo el\u00e9ctrico Taycan, recientemente de forma simult\u00e1nea.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/09\/04\/porsche-taycan-finalmente-desvelado\/\"> presentado<\/a> en Alemania, Canad\u00e1 y China. Si se a\u00f1ade CATL como proveedor de c\u00e9lulas, Porsche podr\u00eda abastecerse del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/07\/05\/catl-iniciara-la-construccion-de-la-fabrica-de-baterias-de-erfurt-en-otono\/\">planta de bater\u00edas prevista en Erfurt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Entre los gigantes asi\u00e1ticos de la fabricaci\u00f3n de bater\u00edas, es de suponer que CATL tambi\u00e9n espera sacar ventaja a sus competidores LG Chem, Panasonic y BYD. Panasonic, por ejemplo, disfruta de una <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/02\/05\/tesla-salva-los-margenes-de-negocio-de-panasonics\/\">desde hace mucho tiempo<\/a> relaci\u00f3n con Tesla, y al parecer el fabricante de autom\u00f3viles californiano tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/08\/25\/tesla-comprara-baterias-a-lg-chem-para-el-model-3-chino\/\">abastecimiento de pilas<\/a> de la empresa surcoreana LG Chem para su nueva f\u00e1brica en China. Al parecer, BYD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/08\/29\/posible-cooperacion-entre-audi-y-byd\/\">en las negociaciones<\/a> con la empresa hermana de Porsche, Audi. Although Porsche is using a different battery supplier, the differently-sourced cells are to be installed in future electric models based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which is being jointly developed by the two Volkswagen subsidiaries.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Bloomberg<\/em>, with this cooperation, Porsche is hoping to be granted the same exemption from the ten per cent sales tax in China that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/08\/31\/china-releases-tesla-from-sales-tax\/\">recently afforded Tesla<\/a>. &#8220;We are working intensively with the Chinese authorities,&#8221; said Jens Puttfarcken, head of Porsche China. In this sense, the German sports car manufacturer and the Californians will have different advantages in approaching Chinese authorities: while the sports car manufacturer is building the Taycan exclusively in Zuffenhausen, Germany, Tesla will soon open their Gigafactory 3 near Shanghai. However, if this new deal between Porsche and CATL goes ahead, it would mean that Porsche had a Chinese cooperation partner, while Tesla, as mentioned above, sources battery cells from South Koreans LG Chem, albeit, in China.<\/p>\n<p>However, the dependence on Asian companies for both North American and European companies has got carmakers on both continents worried. The German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/09\/07\/europes-second-battery-consortium-gets-the-go-ahead\/\">just announced<\/a> the second consortia of battery cell manufacturers too be selected for governmental and EU support. Across the Atlantic, there have been repeated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/07\/27\/rumours-regarding-in-house-battery-production-at-tesla\/\">rumours of Tesla producing its own battery cells<\/a>, last fired by Musk during the conference call to announce the latest quarterly figures. Further details will be apparently be provided by the Californian company at a \u201cBattery Day\u201d this autumn.
