Scottish Golf, Scottland’s golf governing body, has forged a partnership with Forev charging infrastructure supplier to build a network of more than one thousand points at golf clubs, powered with clean energy. <\/p>\n
Forev is an Edinburgh-based startup, led by CEO and founder Lindsay Wallace. The Scottish company uses 100% accredited clean energy.<\/p>\n
Scottish Golf CEO Andrew McKinlay said on the partnership that it “represents a fantastic opportunity for our golf clubs, with Forev covering installation costs of all charging points; and the potential for additional revenue through increased visitor footfall.”<\/p>\n
Forev will provide facilities for EV charging at golf clubs with service provider SWARCO eVolt. Just last month<\/a>, Swarco eVolt agreed on a new programme with Forev to provide the technology and service support for Forev in building a network of fast\/rapid EV chargers throughout Scotland.<\/p>\n Justin Meyer, General Manager of SWARCO Evolt, said of the partnership with Forev that the “technology is proven in [thousands] of installations and hubs across the country, and we are delighted to be engaged in this innovative initiative”.<\/p>\n The first golf course to be provided for will be Crail Golfing Society in Fife, on the East coast of Scotland. Crail Golfing Society Captain Jim McArthur considers the installation “a valuable resource for the members”. He added, “the charging units are part of the club\u2019s long-term commitment to lowering its carbon emissions and addresses the demand from the membership for such a facility.
