El suministro proceder\u00e1 de las plantas de Umicore en varias regiones, la mayor\u00eda inicialmente de Corea.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el grupo belga de materiales y reciclaje, la mayor\u00eda de las cantidades acordadas se destinar\u00e1n a aplicaciones de automoci\u00f3n, y una parte menor a sistemas de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda. Samsung SDI asegura as\u00ed su suministro en el creciente mercado de las bater\u00edas de iones de litio y puede ofrecerlo a clientes como los grandes fabricantes de autom\u00f3viles. Umicore afirma que el compromiso de volumen establecido en el contrato de suministro permite previsibilidad y transparencia a lo largo de la cadena de suministro de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/09\/25\/umicore-y-lg-chem-llegan-a-un-acuerdo-de-suministro-de-catodos\/\">Hace apenas un mes Umicore<\/a> firm\u00f3 un acuerdo similar con LG Chem por 125.000 toneladas de materiales para c\u00e1todos NMC. Este acuerdo tambi\u00e9n entrar\u00e1 en vigor en 2020. Under the long-term agreement, Glencore will supply cobalt from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Umicore refineries worldwide. However, the scope of the supply agreement is unclear: both companies did not comment on prices and volumes.<\/p>\n<p>Umicore is now also in business with German carmakers. Together <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2018\/10\/28\/audi-and-umicore-develop-closed-loop-battery-recycling-concept\/\">with Audi, the Belgian<\/a> company is developing a cycle for the recycling of high-voltage batteries from electric cars \u2013 the aim is to ensure that the materials can be used over and over again. To date, companies have assumed a recycling rate of 95 per cent for metals such as cobalt, nickel and copper. Last year Umicore also founded a consortium <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2018\/10\/15\/bmw-northvolt-umicore-to-create-green-battery\/\">with BMW and Northvolt<\/a> to jointly develop a complete value chain for electric car battery cells in Europe. The joint effort aims to combine the various fields of competence from cell chemistry and development to production and recycling and thus to ensure the development of know-how that could be essential for the establishment of European cell production.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Marc Grynberg sees the company on the right track, and the new agreement with Samsung SDI &#8220;marks another key milestone in the consistent execution of our long-term growth strategy&#8221;.
