Est\u00e1 previsto que la planta piloto entre en funcionamiento a mediados de 2021.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>En la reuni\u00f3n, Macron calific\u00f3 el proyecto como el \"Airbus de las bater\u00edas\". Representantes de Total dijeron que prev\u00e9 inversiones de unos 200 millones de euros. El sitio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/etiqueta-2\/saft\/\">fabricante de bater\u00edas Saft<\/a> pertenece a la empresa energ\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>La producci\u00f3n piloto en el suroeste de Francia es s\u00f3lo el primer paso del proyecto europeo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/05\/01\/el-consorcio-de-baterias-de-psa-opel-y-saft-listo-para-funcionar\/\">consorcio de bater\u00edas<\/a>, en la que tambi\u00e9n participa el fabricante alem\u00e1n de autom\u00f3viles Opel. \"La producci\u00f3n piloto que tenemos ahora aqu\u00ed es la precursora de la producci\u00f3n en serie de c\u00e9lulas\", dijo Karliczek. La producci\u00f3n en serie de c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda est\u00e1 prevista entonces en Douvrin, en el norte de Francia (a partir de 2023) y en Kaiserslautern, Alemania, en Opel. All\u00ed comenzar\u00e1 la producci\u00f3n en 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Al margen del plazo, Saft anunci\u00f3 su intenci\u00f3n de crear una empresa conjunta con PSA denominada Automotive Cell Company (ACC). En esta empresa conjunta se agrupar\u00e1n los \"conocimientos t\u00e9cnicos para desarrollar la actividad de fabricaci\u00f3n de bater\u00edas para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos en Europa\". Inicialmente, ser\u00e1 una empresa conjunta al 50:50, principalmente para la producci\u00f3n piloto. El plan es que durante la fase de producci\u00f3n comercial, la participaci\u00f3n de Saft en ACC se reduzca al 33%, seg\u00fan anunci\u00f3 la empresa. Saft tiene mucha confianza en los resultados esperados de la investigaci\u00f3n. In the course of the approval of the funding by the EU Commission in December, it then became known that two factories with a capacity of 32 GWh each are to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/12\/10\/opel-is-aiming-for-32-gwh-battery-cell-production-in-kaiserslautern\/\">built in Douvrin and Kaiserslautern<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The battery cell factory is essential news for the Opel component plant, as the plant has faced an uncertain future so far, as some of the parts for combustion engines produced there will be less in demand in the future. Today, the plant is one of the largest employers in the region with around 3,000 employees.<\/p>\n<p>With the subsidised battery factories, the governments of EU countries want battery cells production to take root in Europe. &#8220;We need to be able to produce our batteries; this is a matter of industrial sovereignty and the reduction of CO2 emissions,&#8221; Macron said at the event.<\/p>\n<p>So far, Asian cell manufacturers, in particular, have set up or announced factories in Europe, while European carmakers and suppliers have shied away from investing billions. But that now seems to be changing. Volkswagen, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/tag\/Northvolt\/\">Swedish company Northvolt<\/a> have also decided to build a cell factory in Salzgitter with a capacity of 16 GWh (expandable to 24 GWh). The plant is scheduled to start production at the end of 2023, and pilot production is already underway. Northvolt itself is also planning its cell factory in Skellefte\u00e5, Sweden. It is expected to start production there in 2021 with a capacity of 32 GWh and to expand to 40 GWh by 2024.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of November, a second battery consortium of several European companies was submitted to the EU Commission for pre-notification.
