La firma brit\u00e1nica obtiene sus bater\u00edas de la planta de LG Chem en Polonia. Mercedes tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 sufriendo la falta de c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda, entre otros problemas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Las luchas de ambas empresas reflejan el reto com\u00fan de los fabricantes de autom\u00f3viles para satisfacer el r\u00e1pido aumento de la demanda de coches el\u00e9ctricos con cadenas de suministro nuevas y relativamente fr\u00e1giles. Aunque el I-Pace de Jaguar ha demostrado ser popular, el crecimiento de los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos se ha acelerado adicionalmente por los l\u00edmites de emisiones del gobierno, en Gran Breta\u00f1a, por ejemplo, los ministros anunciaron la semana pasada que se <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2020\/02\/04\/el-reino-unido-pretende-adelantar-5-anos-la-prohibicion-del-hielo\/\">imponer una prohibici\u00f3n<\/a> sobre la venta de coches nuevos de gasolina y di\u00e9sel a partir de 2035. Cuando <em>electrive<\/em> pedimos comentarios a Jaguar Land Rover, un portavoz confirm\u00f3 que la producci\u00f3n del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/etiqueta-2\/paso\/\">I-Pace<\/a> \"tuvo que reducirse a corto plazo debido a un cuello de botella en el suministro\". El portavoz de la empresa brit\u00e1nica iter\u00f3: \"Junto con el proveedor, estamos trabajando en una soluci\u00f3n para minimizar el impacto en los pedidos de los clientes\".<\/p>\n<p>La propia Jaguar Land Rover no fabrica el I-Pace, sino que lo hace Magna Steyr en Graz (Austria), donde el SUV el\u00e9ctrico de 4,68 metros de longitud se produce en una cadena de montaje junto con el SUV compacto E-Pace (que, a pesar del nombre, solo se ofrece con motor de combusti\u00f3n interna). Las bater\u00edas proceden de la planta de LG Chem en Wroclaw, Polonia.<\/p>\n<p>Jaguar no es ni mucho menos el \u00fanico fabricante de autom\u00f3viles que se enfrenta a problemas de producci\u00f3n debido a la escasez de bater\u00edas. A spokesperson told <em>electrive<\/em>, however, that they were still planning on 50,000 units and &#8220;had bought cells from various suppliers accordingly&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent report, German business and trade publication <em>Handelsblatt<\/em> made mention of the battery problem at Mercedes among several other issues. The reason that only 700 BEVs were sold in Germany in 2019 was &#8220;a lack of battery cells and too little knowledge of cell chemistry&#8221;. In comparison, competitor BMW sold more than 9000 electric cars in Germany, Tesla even almost 11,000. Referring to corporate groups, <em>Handelsblatt<\/em> writes that Mercedes is struggling with the fact that LG Chem is unable to supply sufficient cells of consistently good quality. Besides, problems are also arising at Daimler&#8217;s battery assembly facility in Kamenz in Germany, where the cells supplied are used to assemble ready-to-install batteries. The German luxury carmaker has issues with cell thickness growth and heat management.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve the plans set out by Daimler boss Ola K\u00e4llenius, the company&#8217;s engineers in Stuttgart, Bremen, Kamenz and at LG Chem will have to get these problems under control quickly. To get the company back on track after three profit warnings, the Zetsche-successor is planning a more consistent orientation towards sustainable luxury cars, according to <em>Handelsblatt<\/em>.
