Ambas empresas ya hab\u00edan acordado <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2018\/01\/17\/metal-air-batteries-phinergy-indian-oil-corporation\/\">cooperar a principios de 2018<\/a>pero ahora los planes se est\u00e1n concretando:<\/p>\n<p>Phinergy y el COI est\u00e1n creando una empresa conjunta en la India que no s\u00f3lo desarrollar\u00e1, sino que tambi\u00e9n producir\u00e1 y distribuir\u00e1 bater\u00edas de aluminio-aire. La empresa conjunta tiene previsto construir una f\u00e1brica en la India para la producci\u00f3n de bater\u00edas de aluminio-aire para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos y aplicaciones estacionarias. La idea es desarrollar todo un ecosistema para esta tecnolog\u00eda de bater\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>India tiene una industria del aluminio bien establecida y en r\u00e1pido crecimiento. El metal est\u00e1 f\u00e1cilmente disponible en el subcontinente. El aprovisionamiento de este material para la producci\u00f3n india de bater\u00edas para su transici\u00f3n fuera de los combustibles f\u00f3siles tiene un valor estrat\u00e9gico geopol\u00edtico. Indian Oil pretende limitar su dependencia de las importaciones de litio con la transici\u00f3n al transporte el\u00e9ctrico. Metal-air batteries cannot be recharged, but drivers need only to replace plates to almost instantly get back on the road. The decisive difference here is that vehicles with these batteries require no charging infrastructure, but rather, plate-swapping infrastructure. \u201cRest of the battery including the air cathodes remain intact and there is no need to change them for at least eight years and after that the air cathode can be completed recycled,\u201d SSV Ramakumar, Director of Research and Development at the IOC told <em>The Economic Times<\/em> late last year. The cost-effectiveness of this strategy requires a commitment to scale.<\/p>\n<p>Now, according to Indian Oil Company, both companies are also already holding talks with vehicle manufacturers on the introduction of aluminium-air batteries in three-wheeled electric vehicles, cars and buses.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, it was already announced that the state-owned IOC intends to start <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/08\/31\/indian-oil-aims-to-produce-battery-cells\/\">production of battery cells<\/a> for electric cars in cooperation with a foreign company. According to Singh, the plan at that time was to build a factory with an annual capacity of at least one-gigawatt hour.
