La carta argumenta que, debido a la actual paralizaci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n, es posible que no se cumplan las normativas sobre el CO2 y las multas inminentes, escribiendo que \"Por el momento no se realizan trabajos de producci\u00f3n, desarrollo, pruebas ni homologaci\u00f3n\". Argumentan que esto trastorna sus planes de electrificaci\u00f3n y por ello concluyen: \"Creemos, por tanto, que habr\u00eda que hacer alg\u00fan ajuste en el calendario de estas leyes\".<\/p>\n
Los grupos piden que se consideren condiciones adicionales a las iniciativas ya anunciadas tanto por el Banco Central Europeo como por el Banco Europeo de Inversiones, as\u00ed como a la propuesta del Pacto de Estabilidad y Crecimiento de destinar 37.000 millones de euros de la pol\u00edtica de cohesi\u00f3n de la UE espec\u00edficamente a hacer frente al impacto del coronavirus.<\/p>\n

At the request of Automobilwoche,<\/em> neither the VDA nor ACEA, two of the four lobby groups penning request wanted to comment on the matter. VDIK President Reinhard Zirpel told the newspaper that it was still “much too early to make a forecast”. However, he speculated that the crisis could change the model mix away from electric cars.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, German manufacturers Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW have emphasized that they want to keep to the CO2 limits unchanged. The non-governmental organisation Transport & Environment say that “such a plea is currently unfounded”, saying that changing the targets would more likely damage the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of the automotive industry in Europe.<\/p>\n Existing targets mean that in 2020, 95 per cent of new car sales must be below the target of 95 grams of CO2 per kilometre on average, and then 100 per cent for 2021. “Falling car sales, therefore, do not automatically affect compliance,” writes T&E. “Compliance would be affected if the type of vehicle sold changes, not the actual number.”<\/p>\n Against the backdrop of current market developments, T&E<\/em> estimates that sales of electric cars \u2013 despite the announced premieres of important models such as the VW ID.3 and Fiat 500 \u2013 will be lower in quarters 2 to 4. Despite this, “Even without new models, first-quarter sales were already at the upper limit of what car manufacturers need to meet compliance targets. These zero-emission vehicle sales will make a significant contribution to achieving the CO2 targets in 2020”.
