Un reciente art\u00edculo en el <em>Financial Times<\/em> ya menciona cantidades concretas que se entregar\u00e1n a Tesla.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El <em>Financial Times<\/em> El informe se refiere a informaci\u00f3n privilegiada sobre el acuerdo entre Tesla y Glencore. Aunque Tesla utiliza menos cobalto en sus celdas de bater\u00edas que los fabricantes de coches el\u00e9ctricos de la competencia, el contrato con Glencore podr\u00eda cubrir hasta 6.000 toneladas al a\u00f1o. El cobalto para Tesla se extrae en la Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica del Congo.<\/p>\n<p>El alcance financiero del acuerdo no se menciona en el informe. For similar reasons, BMW has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/10\/21\/bmw-is-changing-their-resource-strategy\/\">changed its strategy for purchasing raw materials<\/a>: In future, the Munich-based company will purchase critical materials such as lithium and cobalt itself. The company sources its cobalt from mines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/04\/24\/bmw-to-source-cobalt-from-australia-and-morocco\/\">in Morocco and Australia<\/a> before making it available to its own cell suppliers. Unlike Tesla, the battery cells are not produced in-house.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/03\/31\/bmw-uses-blockchain-for-purchase-transparency\/\">March this year<\/a>, BMW initiated the organisation PartChain that uses blockchain technology to increase transparency in worldwide supply chains regarding raw materials and components. Interested companies were invited to join the initiative. BMW is not alone with the idea of a blockchain for supply chain transparency. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/11\/06\/volvo-sets-up-blockchain-system-for-tracing-cobalt-sources\/\">Volvo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/04\/23\/volkswagen-joins-blockchain-initiative-for-purchasing-cobalt\/\">Volkswagen<\/a> have also already presented their own projects to enable them to trace the sources of their cobalt precisely with the help of the blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>Cobalt from Glencore is used in many battery cells. Last December a deal for 30,000 tons of the material was announced with SK Innovation.
