SVOLT suministrar\u00e1 a PSA c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda con una capacidad total de m\u00e1s de 7 GWh.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El sitio de noticias <em>ChinaPEV<\/em> inform\u00f3 del acuerdo refiri\u00e9ndose a personas familiarizadas con los procesos, pero hasta ahora no se ha producido una confirmaci\u00f3n oficial. Al parecer, las bater\u00edas en cuesti\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo se utilizar\u00e1n en veh\u00edculos para el mercado chino, sino en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>SVOLT ya anunci\u00f3 a principios de a\u00f1o que hab\u00eda recibido un pedido de Europa de siete GWh. En aquel momento, se mencion\u00f3 a Audi, BMW o Daimler como posibles clientes, adem\u00e1s de PSA. Sin embargo, si la informaci\u00f3n del informe actual es correcta, es probable que sea PSA.<\/p>\n<p>Aparte de la qu\u00edmica celular acordada - puesto que SVOLT ya ha anunciado <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2020\/06\/16\/se-rumorea-que-mini-no-utilizara-cobalto\/\">c\u00e9lulas de i\u00f3n-litio sin cobalto<\/a>) - lo que sigue sin estar claro es cu\u00e1ndo comenzar\u00e1 el suministro de pilas y en qu\u00e9 plantas se producir\u00e1n. SVOLT cuenta actualmente con una <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2019\/12\/01\/svolt-inicia-la-produccion-de-baterias-en-changzhou\/\">planta en Changzhou<\/a>cuya primera fase entrar\u00e1 en funcionamiento en oto\u00f1o de 2019 con una capacidad de cuatro GWh. While earlier reports had mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2019\/07\/09\/svolt-plans-battery-cell-factory-in-europe\/\">that cell factories were planned in both North America and Europe<\/a>, <em>ChinaPEV<\/em> now writes of a 24 GWh battery factory. In addition to the actual cell factory, SVOLT also plans to build a cathode material plant and a research centre in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The project is said to amount to two billion euros. The report gives no indication of where in Europe the factories will be built, although more information on this could soon be available: The project is to start this year and the first production stage is to be operational in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>If PSA is indeed the major customer from Europe, several possible countries for operations would appear to come into question. The Group operates plants in France, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and, through the joint venture with Toyota, also in the Czech Republic, although Toyota will take over the factory completely from 2021.<\/p>\n<p>PSA currently procures its battery cells from the South Korean company LG Chem and the Chinese supplier CATL. PSA has already set up its own battery assembly facility at the Slovakian plant in Trnava, where the Peugeot e-208, among other vehicles, is built.
