La empresa china WM Motor ha retirado 1.282 de sus coches el\u00e9ctricos EX5 despu\u00e9s de que cuatro de sus veh\u00edculos se incendiaran en el plazo de un mes. Se trata de la \u00faltima de una serie de grandes retiradas efectuadas por fabricantes de autom\u00f3viles de Asia, Europa y Norteam\u00e9rica en las \u00faltimas semanas debido a problemas con las bater\u00edas.<\/p>\n
WM Motors ha efectuado la llamada a revisi\u00f3n de los EX5 fabricados entre el 8 de junio de 2020 y el 23 de septiembre de 2020, debido a posibles contaminantes en las celdas de las bater\u00edas suministradas. Esto podr\u00eda provocar un cortocircuito en estos veh\u00edculos, causando un fuerte aumento del calor en el paquete de bater\u00edas, lo que -si se descontrola- podr\u00eda provocar un desbocamiento t\u00e9rmico. La llamada a revisi\u00f3n se anunci\u00f3 en la p\u00e1gina web de la autoridad estatal de regulaci\u00f3n del mercado.<\/p>\n
El el veh\u00edculo afectado es el EX5<\/a>el primer modelo de la marca. El E-SUV se vende desde 2018 y se ofrece con tres variantes de bater\u00eda para una autonom\u00eda de 300, 400 o 460 kil\u00f3metros seg\u00fan el NEDC. By the middle of this month, it became clear that models sold overseas were also affected with reports that now affects around 77,000 Kona Electric.<\/p>\n Also at the beginning of this month, but now in Europe, it became clear that following reports of problems with the all-electric Polestar 2 after deliveries started just a few weeks before, Chinese-owned Swedish company confirmed that they detected \u201ca software error in the battery power control module, which, in very rare cases and without warning can lead to a loss of drive\u201d. A week later we reported BMW is having a major recall of their PHEVS<\/a>. The total number of vehicles involved is 26,700 worldwide. One-third of these units are in customers\u2019 hands; the rest are subject to a delivery stop. These recalls are, like the WM Motors recalls, due to possible impurities in the production process of the battery cells which an increased risk of fire in several series. <\/span><\/p>\n North America carmakers have not been spared by this month’s flurry of recalls due to battery troubles. Just a day after we reported the BMW recalls, it became clear that Ford was having trouble getting its Kuga PHEV battery problems<\/a> under control with sales stops and some 20,000 recalls of Kuga PHEVs across Europe. Just two days later we reported that Chevy Bolt<\/a> was launching an investigation in response to complaints about Chevrolet Bolt electric cars catching fire. Again, there appears to be a problem with the batteries. <\/span>So far, there has not been an official recall.<\/p>\n There is nothing to suggest that it is more than coincidence that so many vehicles were recalled due to battery troubles by major carmakers from three continents this month.
