El SUV el\u00e9ctrico se asentar\u00e1 sobre la nueva plataforma totalmente el\u00e9ctrica eVMP y contar\u00e1 con c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda de Automotive Cell Company (ACC), la empresa conjunta de Total y las filiales de PSA Saft y Opel.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El noticiario franc\u00e9s <em>L'Argus<\/em> inform\u00f3 de los planes, citando a Yann Vincent, Director General de Automotive Cells Company. Vincent declar\u00f3 al sitio de noticias que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2020\/07\/29\/el-grupo-psa-anuncia-la-plataforma-electrica-evmp-para-2023\/\">Plataforma eVMP<\/a>anunciada por primera vez este verano, ser\u00e1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2020\/01\/30\/inicio-oficial-de-la-produccion-piloto-de-pilas-de-saft\/\">equipado con bater\u00edas ACC<\/a> fabricadas en Douvrin, en el norte de Francia. Vincent afirm\u00f3 que PSA s\u00f3lo comprar\u00e1 a ACC \"si las c\u00e9lulas producidas tienen un precio correcto y son competitivas en t\u00e9rminos de rendimiento\". According to Vincent, they will use classic NMC cell chemistry but with a low cobalt content. He promises: &#8220;Our new cells, which will be validated in 2021, will have a higher energy density&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The French company is currently in the process of setting up a pilot line for cell production in southwest France. This is basically only the precursor for series cell production, which is then planned in Douvrin in northern France and in Kaiserslautern in Germany at Opel. Series production is scheduled to start in 2023 in France and 2024 in Germany. Initially, PSA plans a production capacity of eight GWh, later up to 24 GWh.<\/p>\n<p>PSA can benefit from the short delivery distances enabled by the plants&#8217; locations. The timetable for completion of the new eVMP (Electric Vehicle Modular Platform) fits perfectly. With the pure electric car platform, announced when the French car group presented its half-yearly figures, PSA is deviating from its previous multi-energy strategy. The eVMP is designed for front-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles with up to 250 kW power.<\/p>\n<p>Until now, PSA has produced its electrified models exclusively on the basis of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/tag\/e-CMP\/\">CMP (for smaller vehicles)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/tag\/EMP2\/\">EMP2 (C and D segment)<\/a> combustion platforms.
