El fabricante de autom\u00f3viles confirma as\u00ed los rumores correspondientes. Ford a\u00fan no ha dado m\u00e1s detalles sobre el modelo en cuesti\u00f3n.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El coche el\u00e9ctrico se basar\u00e1 en el sistema modular de propulsi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica (MEB) de Volkswagen. La semana pasada, la publicaci\u00f3n alemana <em>Automobilwoche<\/em> cit\u00f3 a una fuente cercana a Ford diciendo: \"El asunto est\u00e1 decidido, el coche el\u00e9ctrico basado en el MEB de Volkswagen llegar\u00e1 a Colonia\". Por ello, se ha especulado con que el veh\u00edculo Ford basado en el MEB podr\u00eda ser tambi\u00e9n un coche peque\u00f1o o compacto. This is because the carmaker also announced that its passenger car range in Europe will be completely converted to electric and plug-in hybrid drives by mid-2026 &#8211; or &#8220;zero-emissions-capable&#8221;, as Ford puts it. From 2030, all of Ford&#8217;s new passenger cars in Europe are to be purely electric. This announcement also fits with earlier reports: As also reported by <em>Automobilwoche<\/em> last week, Ford is said to have cancelled several hybrid models in its model planning in favour of electric cars.<\/p>\n<p>Ford plans to offer its commercial vehicle range only with electric and hybrid powertrains as early as 2024 and expects to achieve two-thirds of its commercial vehicle sales in Europe with purely electric as well as plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>So far, Ford is building the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/10\/26\/ford-mache-e-production-starts-in-december\/\">Mustang Mach-E electric SUV<\/a> in Mexico and expanding its Michigan plant to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/09\/19\/ford-lays-founding-stone-to-produce-the-f-150\/\">produce an electric F-150<\/a> from 2022, while Missouri will build the E-Transit from late 2021 (for Europe, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/12\/06\/ford-otosan-adds-battery-assembly-at-turkey-plant\/\">E-Transit will be assembled in Turkey<\/a>). In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/09\/29\/ford-will-make-evs-in-canada-from-2024-onwards\/\">two plants in Canada<\/a> will be retooled, where, among other things, electric SUVs for the noble Lincoln brand are to be built from 2024 &#8211; but under Ford&#8217;s own management, not together with Rivian as announced under Ford CEO Jim Farley&#8217;s predecessor Hackett.
