Est\u00e1 previsto construir al menos dos nuevas f\u00e1bricas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>LG Energy Solution quiere construir un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2021\/03\/05\/gm-invierte-en-la-produccion-de-pilas-en-ee-uu\/\">segunda f\u00e1brica de c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00edas como parte de la empresa conjunta con General Motors<\/a>. Se trata de ofrecer una capacidad de producci\u00f3n similar a la de la primera planta de Ohio (35 GWh al a\u00f1o) y producir \"c\u00e9lulas de nueva generaci\u00f3n\". Adem\u00e1s, LG anunci\u00f3 un \"Proyecto de Campo Verde\", un impulso expl\u00edcitamente orientado a la pol\u00edtica para participar activamente en el giro ecol\u00f3gico que persigue el presidente estadounidense Joe Biden. With GM, Ford and Chrysler, all three major US car companies are customers of LG cells.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The goals of the US president and automakers will drive the growth of the electric vehicle and energy storage system market in the US,&#8221; Jong Hyun Kim, CEO of LG Energy Solution, makes direct reference to the policy reversal in the United States. &#8220;LG Energy Solution is committed to expanding its battery manufacturing capacity and building a stable, local supply chain that offers everything from R&amp;D to production.&#8221; Through this commitment, he said, it aims to secure its leadership position as a &#8220;strong, indispensable partner in the electric vehicle and ESS market and contribute to the success of the US auto industry and economy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, LG Energy Solution is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/12\/02\/lg-chem-completes-battery-spin-off\/\">newly formed division of LG Chem<\/a>, which is profitable with the demand for batteries &#8211; not only for electric cars, but also for mobile devices such as smartphones &#8211; and employs about 22,000 people, including about 7,000 in South Korea and 15,000 in other countries. LG Energy Solution is still part of LG Chem, but has been operating as an independent entity since December 2020.
