La empresa francesa se fund\u00f3 en 2019 con el objetivo de impulsar la investigaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo del catamar\u00e1n H2 Energy Observer, para el que Toyota suministra la tecnolog\u00eda de pila de combustible.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2017\/04\/18\/continental-energy-observer-williams-engineering-india\/\">Observador de la energ\u00eda<\/a> es un proyecto de demostraci\u00f3n de dos ingenieros franceses que quer\u00edan construir un barco respetuoso con el medio ambiente. Victorien Erussard y J\u00e9r\u00f4me Delafosse quieren presentar su barco energ\u00e9ticamente autosuficiente y promover la navegaci\u00f3n limpia con un proyecto de traves\u00eda mundial de seis a\u00f1os que incluye 101 escalas alrededor del globo.<\/p>\n<p>La particularidad del Energy Observer es que puede producir su propio combustible a partir del agua de mar mientras est\u00e1 navegando. El catamar\u00e1n de unos 30 metros de eslora lleva a bordo un electrolizador para dividir el agua doblemente desalinizada en hidr\u00f3geno y ox\u00edgeno. La energ\u00eda para ello procede de c\u00e9lulas solares y de una bater\u00eda de almacenamiento de 100 kWh. El hidr\u00f3geno se almacena en dos dep\u00f3sitos de 350 bar cada uno. As\u00ed, el Energy Observer puede almacenar hasta 62 kilogramos de hidr\u00f3geno, lo que es suficiente para varios d\u00edas. El calor residual del electrolizador tambi\u00e9n se utiliza para calentar la cabina y el agua caliente.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto de viaje por el mundo se inici\u00f3 en 2017 y, desde 2019, una empresa emergente especialmente fundada para la ocasi\u00f3n, llamada Energy Observer Developments, se ocupa del desarrollo ulterior de las aplicaciones del hidr\u00f3geno a bordo. In early 2020, EODev and the Fuel Cell Business Group of Toyota Motor Europe integrated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/02\/04\/toyota-delivers-fuel-cell-for-the-energy-observer\/\">fuel cell technology from the Toyota Mirai into the Energy Observer<\/a>. &#8220;The R&amp;D team in Europe managed within 7 months the design and component production, followed by the build and installation of the compact fuel cell module. This successfully demonstrates the adaptability of the Toyota fuel cell technology to a variety of applications,&#8221; the manufacturer wrote. In the Mirai, but also in various buses and trucks, the drive has already proven its suitability for everyday use for several years. The application in maritime transport is the next step.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota has been supporting Energy Observer as a technology partner since 2017. &#8220;We are extremely happy to support and be more closely involved in the initiatives by EODev,&#8221; said Matt Harrison, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe. &#8220;This will enable the industrialization of hydrogen solutions developed by both companies\u2019 engineers using the Toyota fuel cell technology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Lagarrigue, Managing Director of Energy Observer Developments, describes Toyota&#8217;s investment as an important step in the further development of EODev. &#8220;Our relationship began by developing the GEH2 and REXH2 together and validating it with the Energy Observer boat. Toyota&#8217;s capital investment makes our partnership even closer.
