Despu\u00e9s de que Deutsche Post DHL Group presentara su estrategia de sostenibilidad en marzo, el Grupo ha dado ahora m\u00e1s detalles sobre los planes para su divisi\u00f3n Post & Parcel Germany. En marzo de este a\u00f1o<\/a>, Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) anunci\u00f3 que iba a aumentar sus esfuerzos para descarbonizar la empresa, destinando siete mil millones de euros a inversiones para reducir sus emisiones de CO2 en los pr\u00f3ximos diez a\u00f1os. <\/span><\/p>\n El grupo alem\u00e1n de servicios postales ha anunciado que en su divisi\u00f3n Post & Parcel Germany, en Alemania, la flota de furgonetas el\u00e9ctricas de la marca propia del grupo, StreetScooter, pasar\u00e1 de las m\u00e1s de 15.000 actuales a unas 21.500 en el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o. Esta cifra ha aumentado con respecto a los objetivos anteriormente mencionados de unas 20.000 StreetScooters.<\/p>\n Tambi\u00e9n se incorporar\u00e1 un nuevo modelo a las flotas alemanas. Los primeros prototipos del StreetScooter Gigabox, con un volumen de carga de 12 metros c\u00fabicos y espacio para unos 240 paquetes, se desplegar\u00e1n este a\u00f1o. For longer transport, many long-distance trucks are still on the road between the distribution centres, and only two per cent of the shipments are transported by rail between the distribution centres. In the medium term, Deutsche Post aims to triple this share, with rail transport to be increased to around 20 per cent in the long term.<\/p>\n Deutsch Post DHL says that in order to succeed in transferring a significant amount of transport to rail, a number of hurdles need to be overcome \u2013 from fast freight wagons to the availability of new locomotives, better train paths and fast, cost-effective loading options from truck to rail and vice versa.<\/p>\n The expansion of the network of unmanned package stations is also intended to reduce CO2 emissions; by 2023 their number is to increase to more than 12,500. Compared to door-to-door delivery, a Packstation shipment is expected to save an average of 30 per cent CO2 over the last mile \u2013 with just one journey, the delivery staff can deliver several dozen parcels.<\/p>\n Deutsche Post DHL has been one of the pioneers in electrifying its fleets. The German Group was one of the founding members of the EV100 initiative<\/a> back at a time when the company had to manufacture its own vehicles \u2013 hence StreetScooter \u2013 in order to begin decarbonising its fleets. Now, the company has to adapt the charging infrastructure to support the further expansion of its electric fleet. Deutsche Post DHL currently has over 20,000 charging points. DHL points out that in comparison, there are currently only 40,000 public and semi-public charging stations in Germany overall.<\/p>\n
