Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH, filial de Mercedes-Benz AG especializada en el desarrollo de soluciones de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda, es responsable del desarrollo y la puesta en marcha de la aplicaci\u00f3n de segunda vida.<\/p>\n<p>El sistema piloto de almacenamiento de \u00dcSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG tendr\u00e1 una capacidad de unos 500 kWh y estar\u00e1 compuesto por unos 20 sistemas de bater\u00edas que ya han servido durante miles de kil\u00f3metros en el eCitaro para realizar pruebas de conducci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La unidad de almacenamiento se utilizar\u00e1 a partir del cuarto trimestre de 2021 en la nueva subestaci\u00f3n rectificadora de \u00dcSTRA en Hannover, para abastecer a los veh\u00edculos ligeros sobre ra\u00edles y a los autobuses el\u00e9ctricos (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2021\/04\/20\/daimler-ecitaro-g-equipado-con-una-mejor-bateria\/\">Mercedes-Benz acaba de entregar 48 eCitaro a \u00dcSTRA en Hannover<\/a>). \"El sistema de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda sirve de amortiguador para el uso eficiente de la energ\u00eda de recuperaci\u00f3n generada durante el funcionamiento del metro ligero y permite equilibrar los picos de carga, continuar el funcionamiento en caso de fallo de la red y alimentar la infraestructura p\u00fablica de recarga\", afirma Daimler.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el punto de vista de la empresa de Stuttgart, el uso continuado de las bater\u00edas mejora el equilibrio ecol\u00f3gico de la eCitaro, adem\u00e1s de la ya de por s\u00ed \"considerablemente m\u00e1s favorable huella de CO2 en comparaci\u00f3n con los autobuses urbanos de propulsi\u00f3n convencional\". Seg\u00fan el fabricante, la vida \u00fatil de las bater\u00edas con tecnolog\u00eda NMC del eCitaro finaliza tras unos cinco o seis a\u00f1os a una capacidad de aproximadamente el 80%. This is now to be demonstrated once again at \u00dcSTRA. Holger Elix, Head of Infrastructure at \u00dcSTRA, emphasises that the acquisition costs of electric buses posed a particular challenge for transport companies, whereby &#8220;the stationary reuse of the batteries within transport operations can create additional amortisation paths in perspective and thus further accelerate the electrification of road-based public transport&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, the construction of the energy storage system is being developed and demonstrated as part of the GUW+ joint project funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. In addition to the consortium leader Alstom Transport Deutschland, the consortium includes the companies Elpro and Motion Control and Power Electronics, the Fraunhofer IVI in Dresden and the TU Dresden. \u00dcSTRA AG is involved as a demonstration partner, Daimler Buses now as an associated partner. The project, which started in 2019, will run for three years.<\/p>\n<p>For its part, Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH has already accumulated expertise in the area of second-life and spare parts storage. Together with partners, the company has to date brought three large-scale storage facilities with a total of around 50 MWh of energy from automotive battery systems onto the German grid.
