Nissan is launching two new variants of its Ariya electric model in Europe. While there are no changes to the body, one is a new top-of-the-line model, while the other is a more affordable trim to make the Ariya eligible for subsidies in some countries.<\/p>\n
The latter is the front-wheel drive Ariya Engage, available with both battery sizes (63 and 87 kWh). The smaller battery version has a WTLP range of 404 kilometres, while the model with an 87 kWh battery and 178 kW front-wheel drive can get as far as 536 kilometres on one charge. More realistic range figures for this drive combination can be found in our drive report<\/a> on the Nissan Ariya.<\/p>\n According to the carmaker, this new variant would “ensure [that] customers have the ability to access EV grants and subsidies across some European markets.” However, Nissan does not say in which countries exactly.<\/p>\n Specific pricing should follow from 3 April, when the two new variants of the Nissan Ariya can be ordered in most European markets. Previously, the maximum power for the all-wheel drive model with the 87 kWh battery was 225 kW.
