Honda has presented its second electric model for the European market. The e:Ny1 is an all-electric compact SUV based on Honda’s newly developed front-motor-driven platform e:N Architecture F. The electric motor produces 150 kW and is coupled with a 68.8 kWh battery, allowing the EV to go up to 412 kilometres on one charge, according to WLTP. <\/p>\n

“Clever packaging of the electric drivetrain components” offers “remarkable interior space and comfort”. The i.e. features a 15.1-inch touchscreen, multiple storage options and wireless charging for handheld devices. The vehicle itself can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent (DC fast-charging) in 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

There has yet to be any information on the market launch date and prices of the e:Ny1. However, it will complement the carmaker’s BEV portfolio in Europe, which so far only consists of the small car Honda e<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The e:Ny1 is the logical next step on our electrification journey in Europe,” says Tom Gardner, Senior Vice President at Honda Motor Europe. “This latest SUV exemplifies Honda’s commitment to electrification and is the latest step on Honda’s electrification journey.”<\/p>\n

Honda also unveiled the sixth generation of its best-selling SUV model CR-V. The new CR-V will be launched in Europe later this year not only as a full hybrid (e:HEV), but for the first time also as a plug-in hybrid (e:PHEV) with a purely electric range of 82 kilometres.<\/p>\n

The redesigned CR-V comes with a “40mm longer wheelbase [taht] allows for 16mm more rear legroom, and 18% more luggage capacity”, Hond writes in its statement. The vehicle is also the first to include Honda’s new omnidirectional safety and driver assist system ‘Sensing 360’.<\/p>\n

And if that weren’t enough presentations, Honda has one more: The newly launched ZR-V SUV is intended to close the gap between the HR-V and CR-V and will be available as a full hybrid in Europe from autumn 2023.<\/p>\n

In January<\/a>, Honda announced the creation of a new division to strengthen its electrification business within its organisational structure and accelerate development. As reported, Honda wants to launch 30 electric models<\/a> worldwide by 2030 and is relying on three dedicated EV platforms<\/a>.<\/p>\n
