Seg\u00fan el fabricante alem\u00e1n, el i5 aspira a convertirse en el l\u00edder de la movilidad premium sostenible en el segmento de los veh\u00edculos de tama\u00f1o medio superior.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El i5 el\u00e9ctrico se lanzar\u00e1 simult\u00e1neamente con la Serie 5 en octubre. Estar\u00e1 disponible con motores de gasolina y di\u00e9sel y con un sistema h\u00edbrido suave dotado de un generador de arranque de 48 V. Dependiendo de la regi\u00f3n del mercado, el BMW Serie 5 tambi\u00e9n ofrecer\u00e1 cadenas cinem\u00e1ticas h\u00edbridas enchufables, con dos versiones PHEV cuyo lanzamiento en Europa est\u00e1 previsto para la primavera de 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Al igual que el i4, el i5 tendr\u00e1 inicialmente dos opciones de motor. El i5 eDrive40 hereda no s\u00f3lo la denominaci\u00f3n del modelo del i4, sino tambi\u00e9n su sistema de propulsi\u00f3n, que incluye un motor el\u00e9ctrico de 250 kW en el eje trasero. El BMW i5 eDrive40 acelera de 0 a 100 km\/h en 6,0 segundos y alcanza una velocidad m\u00e1xima de 193 km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el i5 no es simplemente una versi\u00f3n ligeramente m\u00e1s grande del i4. Esta distinci\u00f3n se hace evidente al observar el modelo superior, el i5 M60 xDrive, que supera la potencia m\u00e1xima del i4 M50 (400 kW) con sus impresionantes 442 kW. las versiones con bater\u00edas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as del i5 (89 kWh y 90,56 kWh netos) se basan en optimizaciones de la eficiencia para lograr autonom\u00edas competitivas. Durante el estreno, BMW destaca este enfoque en la eficiencia, afirmando: \"Adem\u00e1s de los eficientes motores el\u00e9ctricos, la \u00faltima versi\u00f3n de la recuperaci\u00f3n adaptativa y una combinaci\u00f3n inteligente de la tecnolog\u00eda de bomba de calor para la calefacci\u00f3n interior, la refrigeraci\u00f3n, la propulsi\u00f3n y la bater\u00eda de alto voltaje contribuyen a la autonom\u00eda extendida.\" Dependiendo del equipamiento, la versi\u00f3n i5 con tracci\u00f3n trasera ofrece una autonom\u00eda de entre 477 y 582 kil\u00f3metros, s\u00f3lo ligeramente inferior a la del i4. The balanced axle load distribution of almost 50:50, the lightweight construction and the higher rigidity of the body are to contribute to this &#8211; and the dimensions of the body itself.<\/p>\n<p>Because with a length of 5.06 metres (+97mm compared to its predecessor), the new 5 Series not only cracks the five-metre mark, but with a wheelbase of three metres, it comes to a level that was still in the 7 Series segment a few years ago. In addition, the new model is 32 millimetres wider (now 1.90 metres without exterior mirrors), which increases track width at the front and rear and leads to more stable handling.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 5 Series is also available with a combustion engine, the front bonnet of the i5 is significantly longer than that of the purely electric Mercedes EQE, for example. The i5 stands out from the curved and aerodynamically optimised design of the Mercedes saloon with a somewhat angular face and steep front &#8211; which is still enough for a drag coefficient 0.23.<\/p>\n<p>From the side view, the integrated door handles strike the eye, as does the roofline. It remains straight for quite a long time, which should provide more headroom for rear-seat passengers. Up to the sloping rear window and notchback boot, the i5 Saloon should correspond to the i5 Touring, which will launch later as an electric estate. In the Saloon, the boot holds up to 490 litres. There is no mention of a frunk under the bonnet. On the other hand, the towing capacity of the rear-wheel drive is 1,500 kilograms braked (80 kg drawbar load), and a roof load of 75 kg is permitted. The i5 M60 xDrive can tow up to two tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>This information about the i5 can only be found in the technical data. BMW highlights other features in the announcement, such as the optional &#8220;Driving Assistant Professional&#8221; and specifically its motorway assistant (available in the USA, Canada and Germany). At speeds of up to 130 kph, it is possible to take the hands off the steering wheel and &#8220;position them comfortably&#8221; as long as the driver keeps a close eye on traffic. In addition, there is the active lane change assistant with gaze confirmation: &#8220;The vehicle offers a lane change that can be carried out for the first time via a gaze confirmation in the exterior mirror. The lane change assistant automatically takes over the necessary steering movements, provided the traffic situation allows it,&#8221; says BMW.<\/p>\n<p>The interior has a new iDrive system with the BMW Operating System 8.5. This version also offers &#8220;QuickSelects&#8221;, allowing quick access to some functions without switching to a submenu. The Curved Display (12.3-inch as &#8220;Information Display&#8221; for the driver and 14.9-inch as &#8220;Control Display&#8221;) also supports video streaming and (when the vehicle is stationary) so-called &#8220;casual games&#8221; to stay entertained during a charging break, for example.<\/p>\n<p>The market launch is scheduled for 21 October. So far, BMW has only mentioned the base price for the i5 eDrive40, which costs at least \u20ac70,200 in Germany.
