En un clip pregrabado pero bastante divertido, Rowan repiti\u00f3 variaciones sobre c\u00f3mo lo peque\u00f1o puede marcar una gran diferencia o c\u00f3mo cambios menores pueden tener un gran impacto.<\/p>\n<p>Aun as\u00ed, una de las grandes preguntas (no respondida en el v\u00eddeo sino en un comunicado de prensa posterior) era c\u00f3mo de peque\u00f1o ser\u00eda el nuevo Volvo EV, tanto en tama\u00f1o como en precio, y por supuesto, por qu\u00e9 especificaciones optar\u00eda la marca de Geely.<\/p>\n<p>Naturalmente, Volvo no se aventura abiertamente en el territorio de los coches peque\u00f1os y, en su lugar, denomina al EX30 un E-SUV, aunque sea compacto. Anteriormente se hicieron referencias de estilo al Mercedes EQA y al DS 3 Crossback E-Tense; adem\u00e1s, el EX30 sucede al XC40 Recharge como modelo de entrada de Volvo. Mientras que el C40 mide 4,44 metros y el Smart #1, con el que el EX30 comparte plataforma, se queda en 4,27 metros, el Volvo EX30 es a\u00fan m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o: 4,23 metros de longitud pero 1.549 mm de altura para esta sensaci\u00f3n de SUV y 1,83 metros de anchura (2.032 mm con retrovisores).<\/p>\n<p>Volvo ha optado por basar el EX30 en la plataforma SEA de Geely, como era de esperar. Esta arquitectura tambi\u00e9n sustenta el Smart #1 y el Zeekr 001. En concreto, Volvo utiliza la versi\u00f3n SEA-E (E de Entry). Los veh\u00edculos SEA suelen tener una potencia de 200 kW; en el Smart, la bater\u00eda de 66 kWh proporciona una autonom\u00eda WLTP de hasta 440 kil\u00f3metros y puede cargarse del diez al 80% en poco menos de 30 minutos en un cargador r\u00e1pido de 150 kW. En una versi\u00f3n de tracci\u00f3n total (como el Smart #1 de Brabus), al motor el\u00e9ctrico del eje trasero se une otra unidad en la parte delantera, lo que eleva la potencia del sistema a m\u00e1s de 400 CV.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque la EX30 se mantiene en gran medida dentro de las especificaciones, Volvo ha previsto tres versiones de la EX30 combinando dos configuraciones de motor diferentes y dos bater\u00edas. La bater\u00eda de 51 kWh procede del proveedor chino CATL y tiene una capacidad de 49 kWh (netos) para 344 km de autonom\u00eda. El motor \u00fanico proporciona los t\u00edpicos 200 kW (272 CV) y un par m\u00e1ximo de 343 Nm.<\/p>\n<p>En segundo lugar, en la variante de autonom\u00eda extendida de la configuraci\u00f3n de motor \u00fanico, una bater\u00eda NMC de 69 kWh proporciona una autonom\u00eda de hasta 480 km entre cargas.<\/p>\n<p>La misma bater\u00eda alimenta tambi\u00e9n el tope de gama, la variante Twin Motor Performance, en la que Volvo empareja la bater\u00eda NMC con un segundo motor el\u00e9ctrico. En este caso, la autonom\u00eda de la bater\u00eda de 64 kWh (netos) tambi\u00e9n es de 480 km, pero las prestaciones del VE difieren. Volvo afirma que el todocamino es \"\u00a1oficialmente nuestro coche que m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido acelera de la historia!\" con una potencia del sistema de 315 kW (428 CV) y una aceleraci\u00f3n de 0 a 100 km\/h en 3,6 segundos.<\/p>\n<p>En cualquier trazado, el Volvo EX30 tiene una velocidad m\u00e1xima de 180 km\/h. En cuanto a la carga de CC, la bater\u00eda m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a puede soportar 135 kW como m\u00e1ximo, mientras que el pack NMC alcanza los 155 kW.<\/p>\n<h3>Volvo EX30 como veh\u00edculo de volumen<\/h3>\n<p>Como Rowan indic\u00f3 el pasado diciembre, el Volvo EX30 tiene un papel importante en la estrategia de crecimiento de la empresa. Para 2025, Volvo tiene como objetivo vender 1,2 millones de veh\u00edculos en todo el mundo, frente a los 700.000 de 2021, lo que supone un aumento del 70% en cuatro a\u00f1os. Estos vol\u00famenes, aunque probablemente fijados por la empresa matriz Geely, pueden alcanzarse, por supuesto, principalmente con modelos m\u00e1s baratos y fabricados en China.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que las propias plantas de Volvo en Europa ya est\u00e1n bien utilizadas y que la \"Arquitectura de Experiencia Sostenible\" es un desarrollo chino, el EX30 saldr\u00e1 de las l\u00edneas de Chengdu, Daqing y Taizhou. El Performance AWD comienza en 48.490 euros; el motor \u00fanico con la bater\u00eda m\u00e1s grande parte de 41.790 euros, lo que est\u00e1 m\u00e1s en consonancia con Volvo y el mercado.<\/p>\n<h3>Actualizaci\u00f3n 04 octubre 2023<\/h3>\n<p>Volvo Car USA ha revelado los precios de su primer SUV el\u00e9ctrico peque\u00f1o, el Volvo EX30. Presentado el pasado mes de junio, el EX30 ampl\u00eda la gama de veh\u00edculos totalmente el\u00e9ctricos de Volvo Cars a un total de cuatro modelos. En EE.UU., los precios del EX30 comenzar\u00e1n en $34.950 y alcanzar\u00e1n un m\u00e1ximo de $46.600. Also, set this against the Volvo XC40 Recharge starting from \u00a348,355 or \u00a3584.83\/month as a lease.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know that price and cost of ownership are still one of the biggest challenges when people consider switching to an electric car,&#8221; said CEO Rowan.<\/p>\n<p>This is a fact many in the industry are aware of, naturally including Volkswagen &#8211; the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2023\/03\/20\/vw-reveals-plans-another-ev-priced-below-the-id-2\/\">in March<\/a> announced the &#8220;electric Golf&#8221; that is the VW ID.2 will start at less than \u20ac25,000 when it launches in 2025. And the carmaker allegedly has plans for an even cheaper EV, currently referred to as the ID.1, which could launch in 2027 for less than \u20ac20,000.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Volvo is not Volkswagen and had to find other ways to make the EX30 more affordable and do so sooner, and users may now access the new Volvo EX30 through either &#8220;outright&#8221; ownership, leasing or subscription.<\/p>\n<p>The latter confirms previous reports when Volvo said it was well aware that several 10,000 euros for a new car were &#8220;per se a deterrent&#8221;, as the CEO put it. &#8220;With the subscription model, it is more possible to appeal to younger customers,&#8221; Rowan added today.<\/p>\n<p>As for the monthly instalment, previous estimates ranged from 600 to 700 euros, and Volvo stayed within the bracket. EX30 subscriptions start at \u20ac599, said Bj\u00f6rn Annwall, chief commercial officer and deputy CEO. He added they &#8220;strongly believe this car will be an attractive choice for many customers \u2013 not just for our existing customers but also those new to the Volvo brand&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Volvo EX30 \u2013 The Unboxing\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UBsPUpqSPFs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Again, this was a hope previously laid out. The Geely brand specifically wants to attract first-time buyers, with the entry age expected to drop by ten years. In the video comments online, some said the EX30 would indeed be their first car.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the company also confirmed it was not launching a battery exchange system (or battery rentals) to lower the vehicle price. Since the battery pack plays a significant role in a crash, Volvo \u2013 known for its safety values \u2013 does not want to take any risks which battery swapping could pose.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the Volvo EX30 boast an impressive range of safety features, which the CEO made much mention of. The following are included as a standard, like emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist and scooter steering avoidance, an adaptive cruise control system with cornering and overtaking assist, an active lane system and an exit warning system that prevents so-called &#8220;dooring&#8221; accidents with cyclists approaching from behind. Other systems monitor the driver and can, for example, sound an alarm should they appear distracted or inebriated. The alcohol lock software can shut down the car when detecting alcohol on the driver&#8217;s breath since Sweden operates a zero-tolerance policy.<\/p>\n<h3>Inside the Volvo EX30<\/h3>\n<p>Inside, the Volvo EX30 is reminiscent of the EX90, showing a free-standing touchscreen and offering five seats, however smaller. A steering column lever serves for steering. All four windows can be controlled by just two switches; a &#8220;Rear&#8221; button switches the control panel to activate the rear windows.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Rowan also more than once mentioned a long speaker by Harman Kardon, &#8220;filling the entire car with sound&#8221;. This note on ambience is enhanced by changing interior lights and soundscapes inspired by nature, the company informs.<\/p>\n<p>As for design options, Volvo refers to four &#8220;rooms&#8221; made from a mix of natural and recovered materials, including denim fibres from recycled jeans.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding boot capacity, the EX30 shows its small car character as the cargo space is just 318 litres (with the rear seat back in the upright position) and a maximum of 904 litres. There is also a frunk, however, mostly reserved for the charging cable.<\/p>\n<p>The Volvo EX30 offers 5G as an option and runs on Google or Apple CarPlay. Drivers can also control and monitor the car via the app, with the phone also serving as a car key.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Volvo will focus on online sales and designated the United Kingdom as the first market to switch to a fully integrated online\/physical, direct-to-consumer model this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Volvo EX30 has also become available for order online in other European countries and selected markets &#8211; yet to be listed. In the United States, customers can place pre-orders, while order books will open in other markets at a later stage that will be communicated in due course, so Volvo.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, Volvo intends to electrify its entire\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2021\/03\/02\/volvo-to-go-fully-electric-in-2030\/\">lineup<\/a>\u00a0by 2030.<\/p>\n<h3>Update 26 July 2023<\/h3>\n<p>Volvo Cars has presented the new battery-electric Volvo EX30 for the North American market at an event in New York City.
