Volkswagen sigue convirtiendo la isla griega de Astypalea en todo un laboratorio de la movilidad del futuro. La \u00faltima actualizaci\u00f3n informa de que pr\u00e1cticamente todos los coches nuevos matriculados en la isla del mar Egeo son el\u00e9ctricos. Y eso s\u00f3lo en veh\u00edculos privados.<\/p>\n

El Grupo Volkswagen y el Gobierno griego acordaron en Noviembre de 2020<\/a> para establecer un \"sistema de movilidad pionero\" en Astypalea. Los planes inclu\u00edan la introducci\u00f3n de la movilidad el\u00e9ctrica compartida y servicios de alquiler con e-bicicletas, scooters y coches el\u00e9ctricos. En el siguiente paso, todos los veh\u00edculos comerciales ocupados en la econom\u00eda local y los coches oficiales, como los de la polic\u00eda, las ambulancias y los veh\u00edculos del sector p\u00fablico, tambi\u00e9n deb\u00edan electrificarse. A continuaci\u00f3n, Volkswagen plane\u00f3 instalar cargadores de caja mural de Elli en toda la isla.<\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de estas iniciativas ya se han completado o lanzado, con actualizaciones peri\u00f3dicas cada seis meses aproximadamente. Las ventas de veh\u00edculos privados empezaron en junio de 2021, aunque Volkswagen tard\u00f3 hasta abril de 2022 en entregar el conjunto de los e-Up, ID.3 e ID.4, y el Seat M\u00f3 eScooter 125.<\/p>\n

El gobierno griego apoy\u00f3 con \u00e9xito la transici\u00f3n a la e-movilidad con primas a la compra. Volkswagen y Grecia informaron hoy de que el n\u00famero de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos en Astypalea pas\u00f3 de casi cero a 84 en poco tiempo, y casi todos los coches nuevos que se matriculan en Astypalea son ahora totalmente el\u00e9ctricos.<\/p>\n

Los dem\u00e1s servicios previstos para 2020 tambi\u00e9n se han puesto en marcha y VW dispone de los primeros datos de uso. El 25% de los habitantes utiliza regularmente el servicio ASTYBUS y ha recorrido m\u00e1s de 200.000 kil\u00f3metros en los \u00faltimos doce meses. Por el momento, el servicio de transporte compartido ha sustituido a la l\u00ednea de autob\u00fas tradicional. A diferencia del transporte regular, ASTYBUS opera con hasta cinco veh\u00edculos durante todo el a\u00f1o y conecta muchos m\u00e1s lugares de la isla.<\/p>\n

El nuevo servicio de autobuses est\u00e1 flanqueado por el servicio integrado de veh\u00edculos compartidos astyGO, que ofrece coches el\u00e9ctricos de alquiler de Volkswagen y e-scooters de Seat M\u00d3 y e-bikes de Ducati. La reserva se realiza mediante smartphone a trav\u00e9s de la app astyMOVE.<\/p>\n

Una encuesta cient\u00edfica mostr\u00f3 una aprobaci\u00f3n de 97% para el ASTYBUS, y los usuarios apreciaron el uso flexible combinado con los bajos precios. Volkswagen’s work isn’t yet complete. After transforming transport on Astypalea, the next step is to renew the energy system, writes the company. While existing smaller solar plants are supplying, among other things, the current electric fleet with green energy, the whole island shall go green.<\/p>\n

The next milestone is the construction of a hybrid power system, consisting of a solar park with a capacity of 3,5 megawatts and a battery storage system, which is scheduled to start operation in 2024. Volkswagen states that this system will cover 100 per cent of the island’s energy needs for e-mobility and up to 60 per cent of its general energy needs. The Greece-first tender for this energy project was recently closed, but the company has yet to publish the winner.<\/p>\n

By 2026, the energy system is to be further expanded and, in the final stage, will cover around 80 per cent of the total energy demand. So far, the island has mainly been supplied with electricity from diesel generators, which emit up to 5,000 tons of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n

“Over the next two decades, we will see many of the changes that make up the Astypalea project in other regions of Europe as well,” said Maik Stephan.<\/p>\n

The ‘Smart & Sustainable Island’ project is a joint initiative of the Volkswagen Group and Greece designed to include 360-degree change. In 2022, the partners launched a recycling initiative to free the island from scrap vehicles, with volunteers collecting broken vehicles to be professionally recycled in Athens.<\/p>\n
