La instalaci\u00f3n duplicar\u00e1 la capacidad de producci\u00f3n de Kempower en Europa y estar\u00e1 flanqueada por un centro de investigaci\u00f3n en la Universidad LUT de Lahti.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Kempower ha firmado una carta de intenciones para el arrendamiento de unas instalaciones de aproximadamente 10.000 metros cuadrados, con opci\u00f3n a una futura ampliaci\u00f3n. La planta, que se abrir\u00e1 gradualmente a lo largo de 2024, albergar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n espacios de investigaci\u00f3n, desarrollo y oficinas junto a la producci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Kempower afirma que la nueva f\u00e1brica y el centro de I+D constituyen la primera parte de sus ampliaciones de capacidad en Europa durante 2024-2025. Sin embargo, en funci\u00f3n de la demanda, la empresa considera la posibilidad de aumentar su capacidad de producci\u00f3n en el continente.<\/p>\n<p>Las nuevas instalaciones de Kempower estar\u00e1n situadas en el Centro Isku de Lahti. He considers Kempower&#8217;s arrival a natural continuation of the work that started when the property was renovated for university use. The renovations included building a geothermal system, and the facility also connects to the local solar power plant.<\/p>\n<p>The R&amp;D centre will open by the end of 2023 on the same property as the new production facility. The latter will be fully operational in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion of Kempower&#8217;s operations in Lahti is part of the company&#8217;s growth strategy to become one of the leading players in Europe and North America by 2030. Alongside the new facility in Finland, the company&#8217;s second there, Kempower is also set to open a US production facility in North Carolina later this year, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2023\/02\/08\/kempower-to-open-its-first-us-facility-this-year\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/tag\/kempower\/\">Kempower<\/a> is known for its fast charging system and, in 2022, saw orders coming in from northern and eastern Europe, for example, serving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2022\/11\/02\/vattenfall-delivers-32-fast-chargers-to-vejle-denmark\/\">e-buses in Denmark<\/a>\u00a0or providing fast charging stations in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2022\/11\/02\/kempower-terminal-group-fast-charge-estonia\/\">Estonia<\/a>\u00a0for the petrol station network from Terminal Group.
