Seg\u00fan los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n, el cambio a un voltaje del sistema de 800 voltios forma parte de una actualizaci\u00f3n mayor de la plataforma EVA2, que pasar\u00e1 a denominarse EVA2M.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Se sabe que la EVA2 es la plataforma de 400 voltios en la que se basan las series EQE y EQS, es decir, tanto las berlinas como los modelos SUV correspondientes (incluido el v\u00e1stago Maybach del SUV EQS). No se menciona ninguna fuente, pero los supuestos contenidos de la actualizaci\u00f3n son.<\/p>\n<p>En el proceso, los anteriores motores el\u00e9ctricos de Valeo ser\u00e1n sustituidos por el propulsor eATS 2.0 desarrollado por la propia Mercedes-Benz, que funciona con un sistema el\u00e9ctrico de 800 voltios. Se supone que la electr\u00f3nica de potencia de SiC, en lugar de semiconductores de silicio puro, aumentar\u00e1 la autonom\u00eda en un 5% gracias a las menores p\u00e9rdidas de calor, seg\u00fan \"JESMB\". However, the fact that the e-GMP Hyundai or Kia, which is half as expensive, arrives at the charging station later and still reaches 80 per cent earlier than the expensive Mercedes is not always likely to please the luxury clientele of the Stuttgart company.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, the switch to the eATS 2.0 brings another innovation: unlike the current Valeo drive with rigid transmission, the eATS 2.0 has a two-speed gearbox. In the EVA2M and MB.EA-M, the &#8220;Large&#8221; variant is used. Here, the PSM is stronger and the transmission is adapted to the increased torque. The basic version of the eATS 2.0 for the MMA models also has two gears, but is designed for lower power.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes has already introduced some improvements in the 400-volt version of the EVA2 (heat pump, 22 kW onboard charger and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2023\/08\/02\/magna-starts-edecoupler-production-for-german-oem\/\">decoupling unit in the all-wheel-drive variants<\/a> for the front electric motor), which should provide a better customer experience, for example through a longer practical range or shorter AC charging times. With the major upgrade to EVA2M, a bigger change would then be on the cards.<\/p>\n<p>The question is what impact reports and speculation about such massive changes will have on demand for Mercedes&#8217; top electric models. The Mercedes Maybach EQS 680 SUV, for example, will not be launched until the end of 2023, but now a technically significantly improved variant is already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2021\/07\/22\/daimler-to-exclusively-introduce-ev-platforms-from-2025\/\">on the horizon for 2025<\/a>, even before the market launch. The EQS sedan has been on sale since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2021\/08\/10\/mercedes-eqs-launches-for-e106374\/\">August 2021<\/a>.
