Con la construcci\u00f3n de una tercera l\u00ednea de producci\u00f3n en la planta, SK On pretende cuadruplicar su capacidad de c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda en Corea del Sur, pasando de los 5 GWh actuales a unos 20 GWh.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Est\u00e1 previsto que la tercera planta de la f\u00e1brica de bater\u00edas de Seosan entre en funcionamiento en 2025 y se ampl\u00ede hasta alcanzar una capacidad anual de 14 GWh en 2028. La semana pasada, la empresa firm\u00f3 un memorando de entendimiento con la ciudad de Seosan y el gobierno provincial de Hongseong-gun. Este acuerdo no s\u00f3lo prev\u00e9 la construcci\u00f3n en el terreno de aproximadamente 44.000 metros cuadrados del complejo \"Seosan Auto Valley\", sino tambi\u00e9n la participaci\u00f3n de la ciudad y la provincia mediante \"apoyo administrativo y financiero\". The plan is to introduce a smart factory to optimise production processes. Specifically, the goals are to increase production speed by 30 per cent and to improve process accuracy. However, the improvements are to be introduced later in the existing production.<\/p>\n<p>Which cells SK On wants to produce in the new plant is not mentioned in the announcement. However, the company has so far specialised in pouch cells and supplies carmakers such as Hyundai-Kia, Ford (from its own production and in future via the BloeOval SK joint venture) and Volkswagen (ID.4 from US production).
