Maersk est\u00e1 ampliando su flota de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos en la India. Con el \u00faltimo anuncio, la empresa log\u00edstica pretende desplegar 500 peque\u00f1os VE en 26 ciudades para cubrir la demanda de distribuci\u00f3n de primera, media y \u00faltima milla impulsada por el comercio electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n
Maersk ya dispone de 200 veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos en 15 ciudades en la actualidad y espera duplicar con creces este n\u00famero para octubre de 2023.<\/p>\n
Al igual que antes, la empresa conf\u00eda en una mezcla de tuktuks el\u00e9ctricos y peque\u00f1os camiones el\u00e9ctricos que se introdujeron en septiembre de 2022. Desde entonces, Maersk afirma que ha aumentado la concienciaci\u00f3n en torno a los VE que pueden apoyar la log\u00edstica de distribuci\u00f3n en la India, y con ello llega \"una demanda sin precedentes por parte de varios clientes\".<\/p>\n
Aunque Maersk a\u00fan no ha dado nombres de clientes, Vikash Agarwal, director general de Maersk en el sur de Asia, afirm\u00f3 que el comercio electr\u00f3nico en particular hab\u00eda experimentado \"un crecimiento sin precedentes en la India en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os y tiene un enorme potencial para seguir creciendo en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os\". A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que Maersk estaba \"dando un paso adelante\" para apoyar al mercado.<\/p>\n

Jitendra Kapoor, Head of Middle Mile & Last Mile Distribution, added the range of EVs available in the fleet, would give customers options depending on their business case. “We have as small as two-wheelers that are delivering fresh ready-to-eat salads in the NCR region for a customer, to groceries and lifestyle items for another customer across the country.” NCR stands for National Capital Region Delhi.<\/p>\n
Maersk said, the existing 200 e-vehicles have now covered more than 135,000 kilometres. The division between e-tuktuks and e-trucks as well as their deployment profiles remain unspecified.<\/p>\n
For further deployment, Maersk is also investing in the development of a charging network for its EV fleet and is looking to harness solar energy to recharge at its warehouses across India. Further details remain undisclosed.<\/p>\n
