Leapmotor llega a Europa - con dos veh\u00edculos. En la IAA, el fabricante chino de autom\u00f3viles confirm\u00f3 que Alemania tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 en el plan de expansi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Para el a\u00f1o que viene, Leapmotor pretende tener dos coches el\u00e9ctricos homologados para el mercado europeo: el TO3, que ya est\u00e1 disponible en Francia, y el C10, presentado en la IAA. Despu\u00e9s de eso, el fabricante quiere presentar un nuevo veh\u00edculo para Europa cada a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n
De momento, los chinos s\u00f3lo hablan de \"Europa\". Leapmotor afirma que a\u00fan no ha decidido qu\u00e9 mercados ser\u00e1n los primeros de la lista. \"No disponemos de los recursos necesarios para entrar en todos los mercados al mismo tiempo\", declar\u00f3 Matt Lei, responsable de negocios internacionales de Leapmotor, durante una conversaci\u00f3n con periodistas en M\u00fanich. Pero Alemania es un mercado muy interesante, a\u00f1adi\u00f3. Adem\u00e1s, Leapmotor ya est\u00e1 realizando algunas pruebas con el TO3 en Francia.<\/p>\n
Lei se neg\u00f3 a comentar el precio y dijo que, llegado el momento, el fabricante \"determinar\u00e1 un precio justo\" para sus veh\u00edculos y que ser\u00e1 similar al de un coche de combusti\u00f3n interna con el mismo equipamiento.<\/p>\n

No obstante, Lei insin\u00faa (tras consultar a sus colegas de habla china sentados a su lado en la mesa de la rueda de prensa) que Leapmotor podr\u00eda abrir una planta de producci\u00f3n en Europa. Lei explic\u00f3 que est\u00e1n estudiando detenidamente el mercado, aunque subray\u00f3 que una f\u00e1brica europea no es una prioridad. Al fin y al cabo, Leapmotor es una start-up y, por tanto, dispone de recursos financieros limitados.<\/p>\n

When it comes to its platform, Leapmotor goes into more detail. For example, 88 per cent of the components used are interchangeable and can thus be used for all vehicles based on the platform, which should reduce development and production costs. The oil-cooled electric drive just mentioned has an output of 170 kW to 250 kW and is suitable for both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. “The incorporation of high-voltage silicon carbide technology into the flat wire oil-cooling electric drive achieves a comprehensive efficiency of 92%, all while weighing only 76kg,” the company writes in its media statement.<\/p>\n
Regarding the battery, the manufacturer relies on cell-to-chassis technology (CTC), which means that the battery cell is housed directly in the vehicle body and not in a battery module. According to Leapmotor, this should improve the battery’s range, performance and safety. The new E\/E architecture “Four-Leaf Clover” is supposed to be the “watershed from electric control vehicle to intelligent mobility,” and for the first time “seamlessly integrates” the cockpit, pilot, energy supply and vehicle body domains.<\/p>\n
The Chinese are open to partnerships. Mat Lei emphasised this during the press conference, and the company printed it black on white in the press release published after the presentation of the Leap 3.0 platform, which was held in Chinese. There, it says the company offers four technology cooperation models, from key components to entire vehicles.<\/p>\n
Rumours have been circulating for a few weeks that Volkswagen<\/a> and Stellantis<\/a> are negotiating a partnership with Leapmotor. According to this, VW could use Leapmotor’s technology, specifically the openly mentioned E\/E architecture “Four-Leaf Clover.”<\/a> Together with the FAW-operated car brand Jetta, it could be used in low-priced EVs in China. What a possible cooperation with Stellantis might look like, or which brand of the car company it might be under, is not yet known. Stellantis is reportedly considering investing in a Chinese EV maker or a business partnership to help the group grow in China.<\/p>\n Leapmotor would not confirm these rumours. The head of the international business division also cleverly avoided the question of whether a cooperation with a Western brand in China could facilitate entry into the European market, emphasising once again: “We are open to cooperation, especially cooperation in the field of technology.”
