Junto con socios de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2022\/12\/06\/h2fly-dirigira-el-proyecto-de-aviacion-con-hidrogeno-del-cielo\/\">el proyecto \"HEAVEN<\/a>, la empresa informa ahora de sus primeros vuelos con hidr\u00f3geno l\u00edquido criog\u00e9nico (LH2) como combustible. Se trata de \"otro paso importante en el camino desde los vuelos de demostraci\u00f3n que operan a altitudes m\u00e1s bajas hasta las aplicaciones en aviones comerciales\", subraya la empresa con sede en Stuttgart.<\/p>\n<p>El avi\u00f3n de demostraci\u00f3n HY4, que ha despegado regularmente para realizar pruebas con dep\u00f3sitos presurizados <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/2020\/12\/14\/el-avion-de-pila-de-combustible-h2-despega-en-stuttgart\/\">desde 2020<\/a>, se utiliz\u00f3 en la campa\u00f1a de vuelos de prueba. Entre otras cosas, el HY4 ya ha completado un vuelo sin escalas de 124 kil\u00f3metros con hidr\u00f3geno gaseoso desde su aeropuerto de origen en Stuttgart hasta Friedrichshafen para el AERO. En total, el HY4, reconvertido de este modo, complet\u00f3 cuatro vuelos propulsado por hidr\u00f3geno l\u00edquido, incluido uno que dur\u00f3 m\u00e1s de tres horas.<\/p>\n<p>Los encargados de las pruebas constataron que \"el avi\u00f3n de demostraci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno-el\u00e9ctrico 'HY4' despeg\u00f3 de Maribor (Eslovenia) y registr\u00f3 un funcionamiento seguro y eficaz a lo largo de las m\u00faltiples pruebas de vuelo\", seg\u00fan escribi\u00f3 H2FLY. De los vuelos de prueba, la empresa con sede en Stuttgart deduce que utilizando hidr\u00f3geno l\u00edquido en lugar de hidr\u00f3geno gaseoso, la autonom\u00eda m\u00e1xima del avi\u00f3n de demostraci\u00f3n puede duplicarse de 750 a 1.500 kil\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n<p>El trasfondo de la iniciativa LH2 es que el uso de hidr\u00f3geno l\u00edquido criog\u00e9nico permite reducir significativamente el peso y el volumen de los dep\u00f3sitos en comparaci\u00f3n con el almacenamiento de hidr\u00f3geno gaseoso a alta presi\u00f3n (GH2), lo que se traduce en un aumento de la autonom\u00eda y la carga \u00fatil del avi\u00f3n. The consortium is led by H2FLY and includes partners Air Liquide, Pipistrel Vertical Solutions, the German Aerospace Centre, EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies and Fundaci\u00f3n Ayesa.<\/p>\n<p>Syed Asif Ansar, Head of the Energy Systems Integration Department at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), adds: &#8220;DLR boasts extensive expertise in electrified aircraft, with a track record spanning over 15 years. Starting from the inaugural flight of the Antares DLR-H2 in 2009, consistent advancements have been made in fuel cells and their auxiliary systems. This progressive journey culminates in a significant present achievement in aviation history: the utilization of cryogenic liquified hydrogen as fuel storage for a four-seater aircraft powered by fuel cells. Collaborating with H2FLY, AirLiquide and other project members, DLR is actively engaged in projects aimed at propelling the development of CS-23 and CS-25 fuel-cell powered aircraft into the next phase.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the HEAVEN project, the work was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMVD) and the University of Ulm.<\/p>\n<p>With the completion of the test flight campaign in the HEAVEN project, H2FLY says it now wants to focus on the path to commercialisation. In June, the company also announced in this context the development of its new H2F-175 fuel cell systems, which can be used at flight altitudes of up to 27,000 feet. In addition, H2FLY is currently establishing a centre for H2 aviation together with Stuttgart Airport.
