BASF producir\u00e1 en Michigan materiales activos cat\u00f3dicos a partir de metales reciclados para las pilas de iones de litio producidas por Nanotech Energy. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>BASF afirma que ser\u00e1 la primera empresa de Norteam\u00e9rica en suministrar materiales activos para c\u00e1todos producidos con metales reciclados a escala comercial a partir de 2024, pero con el apoyo de American Battery Technology Company.<\/p>\n<p>ABTC es una empresa de reciclaje de bater\u00edas en Reno, Nevada, como <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/es\/etiqueta-2\/empresa-americana-de-tecnologia-de-baterias\/\">inform\u00f3<\/a>. Tambi\u00e9n forma parte de la nueva red TODA Advanced Materials, especializada en la fabricaci\u00f3n de pCAM (precursor del material activo cat\u00f3dico) y material de hidr\u00f3xido met\u00e1lico. Toda tiene su sede en Ontario, Canad\u00e1, y es el \u00faltimo eslab\u00f3n de la \"cadena de valor localizada de bater\u00edas para las industrias norteamericanas de electr\u00f3nica de consumo y automoci\u00f3n\" de BASF.<\/p>\n<p>A lo largo de esa cadena, la chatarra de las bater\u00edas y el material fuera de especificaci\u00f3n de la planta piloto de Nanotech en Chico (California) y de su proyectada instalaci\u00f3n comercial ser\u00e1n reciclados por ABTC. Los socios explican que los metales recuperados por ABTC -como el n\u00edquel, el cobalto, el manganeso y el litio- ser\u00e1n utilizados posteriormente por TODA y BASF para producir nuevos precursores y materiales activos cat\u00f3dicos. The plant in Schwarzheide is already sold out for the next few years. It is expected to manufacture battery materials for over 400,000 electric vehicles annually, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2020\/11\/14\/basf-breaks-ground-for-new-cathode-plant-in-germany\/\">reportedly<\/a> using precursors from BASF&#8217;s plant in Harjavalta, Finland.<span id=\"more-201184\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As with the US operations now underway, BASF said it was the first company to establish a &#8220;co-located battery materials and recycling centre and close the loop in the European battery value chain \u2013 from the collection of used batteries and the recovery of mineral raw materials to their use in the production of new battery materials&#8221;. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2022\/06\/21\/basf-to-build-battery-recycling-facility-in-brandenburg\/\">battery recycling plant<\/a> is currently under construction. It shall come online by 2024.<\/p>\n<p>BASF also appears to plan a battery recycling plant in Tarragona, Spain.
