En concreto, las c\u00e9lulas de bater\u00eda LFP de BYD se utilizar\u00e1n en el CLA el\u00e9ctrico. Esto coincide con las declaraciones realizadas por Mercedes-Benz al presentar el concepto, seg\u00fan las cuales se utilizar\u00e1n c\u00e9lulas con qu\u00edmica LFP en la versi\u00f3n de entrada de gama. The Blade battery is an LFP cell with a special form factor: the cells are very long, which makes them resemble the blade of a sword. The blade battery is a cell-to-pack technology: the cells are directly installed in the battery pack and not first grouped in individual modules. This allows the energy density to be increased at the pack level. BYD uses the blade batteries in its own models, but also markets them to third parties. For example, the Chinese manufacturer supplies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2023\/05\/04\/tesla-builds-model-y-base-variant-in-germany-using-byd-batteries\/\">Tesla&#8217;s Berlin plant<\/a> with blade batteries. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2022\/08\/29\/toyota-faw-rely-on-byd-tech-for-electric-car-for-china\/\">Toyota bz3<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2023\/08\/30\/kia-to-launch-ev5-in-china-at-competitive-prices\/\">the Kia EV5<\/a> will also feature blade batteries from BYD.<\/p>\n<p>While Mercedes-Benz is now said to be the next customer, according to <em>CBEA<\/em>, it is apparently not yet clear whether the Stuttgart-based company will only use the Blade battery for production in China or also for the international version.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes-Benz and BYD know each other well.
