The framework agreement with TfL includes the delivery of up to 43 rapid charging points, which will be ‘located near key routes used for essential road journeys typically made by high mileage, commercial users – including taxis and freight – as well as near high streets and local amenities,’ as stated by the London transport authority. Many of the new charging stations will be located in South London, including areas like Bromley, Lewisham, and Sutton.

This latest award marks the second contract TfL has awarded to TotalEnergies. Another provider, Zest, is also active in London, having already fulfilled several orders and installed around 40 rapid charging stations for TfL to date. These are currently the only two private contractors in the rapid charging sector.
