Breckner\u2019s reference to factors such as capacity and component supply reflects the challenges currently facing the Zuffenhausen-based manufacturer. While Porsche has produced the all-electric Macan alongside the ICE variant at its Leipzig plant since 2024<\/a>, the battery-electric variant, based on the PPE platform, was initially intended to seamlessly replace the internal combustion model as Porsche\u2019s bestseller. Although sales figures for the Macan Electric are developing positively, the internal combustion model continues to enjoy strong demand in markets where it remains available for order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Initial plans\u2014driven by the ambitious electrification targets set by former Porsche CEO Oliver Blume\u2014did not include a successor for the internal combustion Macan. However, the Porsche board was forced to reassess its strategy in light of the slower-than-expected market uptake for electric vehicles<\/a>. As a result, a new Macan with petrol and hybrid powertrains is now in development. However, this model will not debut for another two years. Until then, customers looking to purchase a Porsche Macan in the near future will have to opt for the battery-electric version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This situation could particularly affect Porsche in the USA, where the sports car manufacturer has already faced challenges due to its exclusively European production and the tariffs imposed by former US President Donald Trump.
