Even though CEO Harald Kr\u00fcger described it as &#8220;ultimately bring[ing] the next generation of electro-mobility to the road,&#8221; shareholders criticised the BMW for lagging behind Tesla as well as Mercedes in terms of model range and innovation.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/europe.autonews.com\/article\/20160512\/ANE\/160519952\/bmw-will-launch-electric-self-driving-flagship-in-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">autonews.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Opel&#8217;s own dieselgate<\/strong>: The GM owned carmaker apparently used so-called defeat devices in the Zafira, causing &#8220;the exhaust gas treatment in those car to be severely limited,&#8221; German <em>Spiegel<\/em> reports. In its &#8220;defence,&#8221; Opel claims it did not use &#8220;cheating&#8221; software like its rival Volkswagen.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/bertelschmitt\/2016\/05\/12\/dieselgate-at-gm-report-finds-defeat-devices-in-opel-cars\/#72e9c0ff4f3b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">forbes.com<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/auto\/aktuell\/opel-experten-finden-weitere-abschalteinrichtungen-a-1091959.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">spiegel.de<\/a> (in German)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agent Provocator<\/strong>: The Smart rival from Russia is progressing from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electrive.com\/2016\/02\/17\/mirrow-provocator-velometro-city-mobil2-porsche\/\" target=\"_blank\">concept<\/a> to prototype faster than expected. Mirrow says it will present an electric Provocator already at this year&#8217;s Mondial de l&#8217;Automobile in Paris.
