India shops abroad for EVs
The Indian government has issued a contract for multiple electric vehicles, however instead of going for vehicles from their home market, such as Mahindra or Tata, the government decided to opt with Hyundai’s Kona, which costs about twice the amount as Indian competitors.

Germany: Hyundai Kona Hybrid to start at €26,900
The Hyundai Kona Hybrid presented at the beginning of June can be ordered now in Germany at prices starting at 26,900 euros. For the market launch in autumn, the customer can choose between the three features Trend, Style and Premium.
Hyundai to release full hybrid Kona
Hyundai is expanding the model range of the Kona by another electrified variant: Starting in August, the compact SUV, which was previously offered as a combustion engine and as a fully electric car, will also be available as a full hybrid in Europe.
Hyundai to produce Kona electric car in India
Hyundai plans to produce its fully electric Kona in India starting in the second half of 2019. The plan is linked to an investment of 70 billion rupees (around 870 million euros) in the Hyundai plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Hyundai rushes to electrify commercial vehicles
Hyundai wants to speed up the electrification of its commercial vehicle segment. Both the van Porter as well as the small truck Mighty will get an electric option as soon as next year with Hyundai to adapt technology from the Kona EV.
