SK On closes deal with Urbix for anode development
The battery cell manufacturer SK On has joined forces with the US graphite processor Urbix to develop anode materials for its batteries. The South Korean company is interested in innovative materials and securing its US supply chain.

Nexeon raises over $200m for silicon-anode production
British battery developer Nexeon secured over 200 million dollars to fund battery materials manufacturing. The company speaks of soon making “tens of thousands of metric tonnes” of its silicon-based anode materials and mentions supplying Tier 1 OEMs.

GM invests in EV battery startup Soelect
General Motors’ investment arm GM Ventures, is among the investors in a US startup developing fast-charging lithium-metal batteries for electric vehicles, the company said Thursday. Soelect raised $11 million from GM Ventures, KTB Network and Lotte Ventures, an affiliate of Korea’s Lotte Chemical.
