TÜV SÜD opens battery testing centre in Thailand
The German testing and certification service provider TÜV SÜD has inaugurated its Battery and Automotive Components Testing Centre in Chonburi, Thailand. This lab further adds to the existing network of 8 battery testing labs spread across North America, Germany and Asia.

AMTE Power joins forces with Mahle Powertrain
UK battery cell manufacturer AMTE Power has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-based German manufacturer Mahle Powertrain (MPT). The non-binding MoU the MoU between the two companies will facilitate testing of AMTE Power’s UHP cells at MPT test sites in Northampton.

VW tests extreme-heat EV charging in Arizona
Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) opened a 50-space charging station at its Arizona Proving Grounds to help the company test battery and charging performance in scorching weather. VWGoA says it is “one of the most extensive EV charging stations”.

Fraunhofer Institutes & VDE establishing battery competence
Fraunhofer ISE, Fraunhofer EMI, and the Association of German Electrical Engineers VDE are establishing a new competence center for batteries and energy storage systems in Freiburg. Their focus is on market-oriented R&D, testing and certification.
