First pre-series eCascadia models delivered
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has delivered the first units of its battery-electric Freightliner eCascadia truck to customers. However, these are test vehicles and series production is not scheduled to start until 2021.

Daimler restructures as Zetsche hands reigns to Källenius
After 13 years at the helm of Daimler, Dieter Zetsche stepped down as CEO today and has handed over management of the Group to Ola Källenius. He will be appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars for the next five years and comes with ambitions.

USA: Daimler prepares serial electric truck production
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced its plan to convert their Portland plant in Oregon for the production of electric trucks under Freightliner banner next year. Serial production of the eM2 and eCascadia models is set to start in 2021.

Japan: New Fuso product and design centre opened
Daimler Trucks has opened a new product and design centre at the Kawasaki plant of its Japanese commercial vehicle subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC). A main focus of the new centre will be the specific challenges facing electric trucks and their ecosystems, including charging.

Daimler delivers first fully electric freightliner eM2
With the delivery of the first all-electric Freightliner eM2 to Penske Truck Leasing, Daimler Trucks has now also launched practical tests for heavy and medium-heavy electric trucks in the USA. In future, Penske Truck Leasing will use the electric truck in local distribution traffic in the northwest of the USA and in California.

Daimler Trucks founds e-mobility unit & announces new trucks
Daimler Trucks & Buses is bundling their know-how for electric propulsion systems in utility vehicles in a new, global-acting organization named the E-Mobility Group (EMG). They also introduced two new trucks, which were especially developed for the US market.
