Lime is investing $50 million in new e-bikes compatible with their incoming fourth scooter generation. The investment primarily aims to expand Lime’s ride-sharing fleets in Europe, with 15 cities poised to receive the e-bikes.

Bike Share Toronto launches e-bike pilot

Toronto sees the installation of a new e-bike sharing as Bike Share Toronto launched a pedal-assist bike pilot program this week. The pedelecs are available on the app already, while the charging stations will be installed over the next few weeks.

Reading tip I: 16 electric bike sharing schemes have sprung up in the UK funded by the government with 700,000 GBP. The programmes have been collated in Bikeplus as a representative body.

Reading tip II: Croation students have developed the Grunner concept e-bike that is voice controlled and takes in its surroundings by capturing them on camera. While it is work in progress, interest to use the e-bike for sharing has been expressed already.
