Torqeedo shows new electric drives and boats in Miami
Torqeedo presents its product range at the Miami International Boat Show, as the company debuts its two new drives in the US. Also on show at the main docks are two new electric sports boats and a solar-electric motor yacht powered by Torqeedo’s Deep Blue Hybrid system.

Danfoss Editron is supplying the drive for Stockholm’s first ice-capable hybrid passenger ferry. As the Stockholm-based Waxholmsbolaget ferry will be in service throughout the year, it has been specially designed to operate in waters with an ice layer up to 25 cm thick.
Torqeedo to double power of electric boat motors
Electric boat motor specialist Torqeedo announces new motors for electric boats for 2019. The new drives essentially double the performance and can be integrated in a twin system then delivering up to 200 kW – twice as much as before.
Kreisel builds 100 kWh boat battery for Portier
Kreisel Electric has developed a high performance battery, which allows for a high speed of up to 50 knots (93 km/h) on the purportedly fastest serially produced electric boat in the world. The motor for the SAY29E Runabout Carbon has a peak performance of 368 kW.
BMW and Torqeedo to build electric racing yacht
Around the world with zero emissions – the dream is not new but this time it is not about flying but sailing and Torqeedo and BMW want to make this vision a reality. They are jointly designing a yacht to compete in the Vendée Globe solo, around-the-world race in 2020.
