In the USA, a new rebate programme for EVs opened in Illinois on 1 July. Anyone who buys an electric vehicle (car, truck or van) can apply for a $4,000 rebate from the state. There is also a $1,500 rebate for electric motorcycles but not for electric mopeds.

The motorbike manufacturer Ducati, which belongs to Audi, has presented the V21L, the prototype of the electric racing motorbike for the MotoE. In this context, the Italians have also published the first technical details of the machine.

In the UK, more than £43 million of UK government and industry funding has been awarded to projects including electric motorcycles and an all-terrain, 4×4 electric delivery truck designed for emerging markets. Grants also went to feasibility and early-stage proposals that could bolster the UK electric vehicle supply chain.

The Spanish postal service Correos have launched a tender to expand its delivery fleet with 800 new electric motorbikes. Of these, 700 will be two-wheeled and 100 three-wheeled electric motorbikes. Correos wants to lease the vehicles over a period of 60 months.
