Rivian marks billions in losses for Q4 2021

Rivian has presented its business figures for the fourth quarter and the 2021 fiscal year. Due to the expenses for the production ramp-up, the loss increased enormously. As deliveries are still at a manageable level, sales are still low.

DPD orders another 150 eSprinter

Following the deployment of the first vehicles since 2020 as part of a pilot project, the German logistics service provider DPD has now added a further 150 eSprinter electric vans from Mercedes-Benz Vans to its German fleet. The vehicles will be used at the depot locations in Hamburg, Essen and Nuremberg.

Vinci Energies takes delivery of their first Opel Vivaro-e

Vinci Energies Building Solutions has taken delivery of the first of 30 Vivaro-e Cargo from Opel in Rüsselsheim. They are the first electric light commercial vehicles in the company’s fleet. From now on, customer service staff will use them for assembly and service work.

VW to put the ID. Buzz on display at the SXSW

The electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz will make its North American debut at ‘South by Southwest’ in Austin, Texas, between March 11 and 20. The vehicle on display will be the European model, which will have been revealed online on March 9.

VW ID. Buzz rumoured to release under €60,000

Volkswagen wants to launch its ID. Buzz in September at an entry-level price of just under 60,000 euros, according to a media report. After the presentation of the model on 9 March, orders for the MEB van will apparently be accepted from May onwards.

Walmart orders 1,100 Ford E-Transit vans

US retailer Walmart has ordered 1,100 units of the E-Transit from Ford. In total, Ford says it already has 300 customers for the electric van in the USA, who have placed orders for more than 10,000 units.

Deutsche Post DHL Group has sold its electric delivery van subsidiary StreetScooter to the Luxembourg holding company Odin Automotive. StreetScooter rights and production know-how as well as its subsidiaries in Switzerland and Japan will go from Deutsche Post DHL Group to the new owner.

Merchants Fleet orders 5,400 more BrightDrop trucks

The US fleet management company Merchants Fleet has placed another large order for electric delivery vans with the General Motors brand BrightDrop. Having already ordered 12,600 EV600s, Merchants Fleet is now ordering 5,400 of the recently unveiled smaller EV410 offshoot.
