Janus Electric & Li-S Energy collaborate on batteries

In Australia, battery developer Li-S Energy has signed a collaboration agreement with electric truck developer Janus Electric to power around 400 electric trucks. The agreement will see Li-S Energy develop and test lithium sulphur and lithium metal battery cells to suit the requirements of the Janus Electric exchangeable prime mover battery packs.

BYD and Levo Mobility partner with 5,000 BEVs

BYD and Levo Mobility have announced a collaboration to integrate Nuvve’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology with a variety of commercial, public transport and heavy-duty BYD battery electric vehicles. The plans encompass the joint deployment of up to 5,000 BEVs over the next five years for fleet solutions.

DFDS orders 100 FM Electric trucks

Volvo Trucks has announced its largest-ever order for electric trucks, with Northern European shipping and logistics company DFDS ordering 100 Volvo FM Electric trucks for delivery between late 2022 and 2023. The large order follows a successful customer trial.

ABB develops trolly-truck system for mining

SAG develops liquid H2 cryogenic tank for trucks

The Salzburg Aluminium Group (SAG) is developing a cryogenic tank system for liquid hydrogen (LH2) for trucks. Prototyping is to begin in a few months, followed by test phases. Based on the results obtained, SAG wants to produce the LH2 cryo tank in series from 2027.

Scania builds 15 electric rubbish trucks for Copenhagen

In Denmark, the City of Copenhagen has ordered 15 electric refuse collection trucks from the manufacturer Scania. The order is part of the city’s plan to achieve climate neutrality by 2025 and, as part of this, to procure at least 100 all-electric refuse collection vehicles by 2025.

Renault offers more battery options for electric trucks

Renault Trucks has announced new battery options for its all-electric D Z.E. (16-tonne) and D Wide Z.E. (26-tonne) truck models. The trucks previously equipped with 50 kWh modules can now be ordered with 66 kWh modules. With the Master Z.E. electric van, the battery remains the same, but the payload is optionally increased.

DAF unveils 3-axle electric garbage disposal truck

The Dutch manufacturer DAF now also offers its CF Electric electric truck as a three-axle truck with a gross vehicle weight of 28 tonnes. The first examples will be tested this year as refuse trucks by the Dutch waste disposal companies HVC and ROVA.

BYD delivers 9 electric garbage trucks to Brazil

BYD has delivered nine electric trucks to the Rio de Janeiro municipal cleaning company Comlurb, which will use the BYD T8 electric trucks for waste collection. This will apparently make the fleet the largest fleet of electric trucks outside of China.
