United Rentals purchase 530 EVs from Ford

The US company United Rentals has signed an agreement with Ford Pro to purchase 530 all-electric vehicles for its North American rental and corporate fleets. This involves 500 F-150 Lightning pickup trucks and 30 E-Transit vans.

DPD UK orders 1000 Ford E-transit vans

Royal Mail rolls out 43 zero emission delivery vans

The British post service Royal Mail has replaced the entire fleet with electric vans at its delivery office in Leighton Buzzard, a town in Bedfordshire, England. 43 new EVs will charge at twelve charging columns Royal Mail installed on site. The acquisition is part of the company’s plan to increase the number of EVs tenfold.

GM prepares for electric van production in Canada

General Motors will start producing electric vans at its plant in Ingersoll, Canada, later this year. Construction of the BrightDrop electric van is scheduled to begin there at the end of December. Light pickup production and a third shift will be introduced at the Oshawa assembly plant.

Leap24 to build 240 HPC stations for trucks and vans

Dutch startup Leap24 has reportedly raised capital of around 4.25 million euros in its first year. The company plans to use the funds to build 240 fast-charging stations at 40 locations in the Netherlands by the end of the year, which will also be suitable for electric trucks. Further expansion is planned throughout northwestern Europe.

US postal fleet “could” be 70% electric within a decade

VW ID. Buzz rumoured to release under €60,000

Volkswagen wants to launch its ID. Buzz in September at an entry-level price of just under 60,000 euros, according to a media report. After the presentation of the model on 9 March, orders for the MEB van will apparently be accepted from May onwards.
