British company Lunaz announced a 400% increase in its re-manufacturing and electrification capacities in Silverstone, Buckinghamshire. The new facility is planned to open with 300 technicians and engineers in 2022.

Major electric bus maker BYD has received orders from the UK and Japan, and the US to deliver zero-emission vehicles. At least the electric buses headed for Glasgow and Kyoto will make for a sight, whereas the EVs going to the US will go there silently.

Argentina’s first fleet of electric buses will pick up operations in in Mendoza, with 12 electric buses supplied by BYD recently having arrived. At the same time, Seattle has received their first electric garbage truck, also provided by the Chinese EV manufacturer.

In the Swiss canton of Basel, most if not all waste is soon to be collected with fully electric vehicles. The city government is ready to replace 20 garbage trucks with electric versions despite the higher cost.

Volvo presented their first electric truck, the FL Electric, as an electrified garbage truck in Gothenburg, Sweden. Reports also indicate that Volvo will be presenting a 26 ton version in early May in Hamburg.
