Geely takes two Guinness records
Geely’s electric car brand has broken two Guinness World Records with its first model. The Zeekr 001 secured the titles for the fastest drift ever achieved by an electric car (207.996 km/h) and the fastest electric car slalom (50 cones in 49.05 seconds).

Zietlow and team set EV altitude world record
Rainer Zietlow and his team were able to set a Guinness World Record for electric vehicles with 5,816 metres of altitude. They drove a VW ID.4 GTX up the world’s highest passable mine road at the Uturuncu volcano in Bolivia.

Porsche Taycan rounds up its records
The all-electric Porsche Taycan has set another Guinness World Record, this time for the most consecutive doughnuts (spins) in an electric car on ice. Stunt driver Terry Grant managed 69 doughnuts in a row in Sweden in a production Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo with winter tires.

Taycan sets a charging record in the USA
The Porsche Taycan has set a new official Guinness World Record in the USA for the shortest charging time of an EV during a coast-to-coast drive. Wayne Gerdes completed the 2,834.5-mile trip from L.A. to New York in a 2021 Taycan with a cumulative charge time of 2 hours, 26 minutes and 48 seconds.

Porsche rakes in Guinness World Record
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo has set an official Guinness World Record with around 5,000 metres of altitude covered. A team drove the electric car from the lowest point they could reach with a vehicle in the USA to one of the highest in just over 24 hours.

The Guinness Book of World Records has yet another curious entry. British tinkerer Edd China now holds the title for the world’s fastest electric ice cream van, with a measured top speed of 118.964 kph (73.921 mph), among six other records.

New acceleration world record.
By going in exactly 1.779 seconds from zero to 100 kph in the electric racer E0711-5, the Greenteam of the University Stuttgart set a new world record for the fastest acceleration of an electric vehicle. The previous record of 1.785 seconds had been set by Swiss e-racer “Grimsel.”

A new Guiness World Record has been set for the tightest parallel parking job. The car of choice was the Fiat 500e that slid into a spot with just 7.5 cm to spare. Before you start practising at home, be advised that the record holder is a professional stuntman.

A Chinese student has set a new record – in parallel parking. Han Yue drifted a Mini into a parking gap that’s only 8 cm longer than the vehicle. That’s reason enough for an entry in the book of Guinness World Records.

An electric golf cart pimped by Plum Quick Motors gets you across golf courses rather quickly. Hitting 118.76 mph, it set a new Guinness world record for fastest golf cart. Just don’t get stuck in sand pit on your way to the finish line!

World record for the biggest EV parade.
With 507 electric cars, a new world record for the biggest EV parade to date has been announced by Guiness in Cupertino, California. The record-breaking cue occurred during the National Drive Electric Week and takes away the German mark of 481 electric cars from Stuttgart.

Longest parade of electric vehicles.
An impressive 507 EVs gathered in Stuttgart last weekend to form the longest parade of electric vehicles to date. The WAVE (World Advanced Vehicle Expedition) is expected to have broken previous records from Zurich (305) and Norway (399), but Guinness still has to officially recognise this new World Record. The WAVE Trophy runs until June 8th through Germany and Switzerland.
