Torqeedo electrifies LifeCraft
Torqeedo has developed an electric drive for the lifeboat called LifeCraft made by the Danish company Viking. LifeCraft is an inflatable, motor-driven lifeboat for the evacuation of ship passengers at sea, which offers space for up to 203 people.

Nidec to invest in new e-motor factory in China
The Japanese electric motor manufacturer Nidec is planning to invest about 274 million dollars into a manufacturing facility in China. The new factory in Pinghu near Shanghai is supposed to begin serial production of traction motors for electrified vehicles in 2019.
ZF invests 2 billion euros into R&D
The automobile supplier ZF has announced a further expansion of their research and development work. This time, they plan to invest more than 2 billion euros. A large part of that sum is to go into electric drive systems.
