SGL & Nio present lighter battery casing

The German manufacturer SGL Carbon and the Chinese electric car manufacturer Nio have developed a prototype of a battery housing made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for electric vehicles. It is around 40% lighter than comparable aluminum housings.

Continental widening e-mobility portfolio in China

Karma reveals next Revero & GT Coupe + EV concept

China: Homegrown Tesla rivals by Nio & Xpeng

China: Toyota debuts BEVs & strikes Singulato deal

Toyota will present its first two electric cars at the Auto Shanghai with sales in China scheduled to begin in 2020. Moreover, the Japanese company is working on a deal with the Chinese EV startup Singulato Motors to deploy an old Toyota mini EV en masse and anew.

Aston Martin launches limited edition Rapide E

VW to show ID. Lounge & e-beach buggy in Shanghai

VW will be present its next electric vehicle based on the MEB platform at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2019. The ID. Lounge will share the booth with a revival of the Meyers Manx beach buggy build on a similarly iconic Beetle only in electrified form.
