PowerCo secures land for Volkswagen’s next battery factory
Volkswagen’s plans for a battery cell factory in Spain have entered the next phase by purchasing a plot of land. PowerCo, the Group’s battery division, has signed the papers and was ready to invest €63 mn to buy 130 hectares in Sagunt, near Valencia.

USA: Magna may develop “rugged” Scout EVs for VW
Volkswagen may turn to Magna International to help them relaunch the Scout brand in the USA with a range of “rugged” new offroad EVs. Apparently, VW is in talks with the contract manufacturer and continues to consider getting a dedicated new platform for these vehicles.

VW expands networks & offers fixed prices
The Volkswagen Group is launching a charging and energy campaign. The volume brands Volkswagen, Cupra/Seat and ŠKODA are now to offer fixed kilowatt-hour prices throughout the entire charging network. At the same time, the Group is further expanding its European charging network.

Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) opened a 50-space charging station at its Arizona Proving Grounds to help the company test battery and charging performance in scorching weather. VWGoA says it is “one of the most extensive EV charging stations”.
