Volvo Cars turns app into one-stop-shop for EV drivers
As it moves toward becoming a fully electric car maker by 2030, Volvo Cars is turning its app into a “one-stop-shop” for drivers of Volvo Recharge vehicles. The new version integrates charging functions and payment options that Volvo has added through recent partnerships.
Volvo Cars invests in StoreDot
Volvo Cars has invested in the Israeli battery developer StoreDot. The two companies have not disclosed the amount of the strategic investment. Previous investors in StoreDot include Daimler, Samsung, BP, VinFast and Ola Electric.
Volvo Cars to assemble XC40 in Malaysia
Volvo Cars plans to assemble its all-electric XC40 Recharge in Malaysia later this year. In addition to the local market, the electric car from Malaysia will also be exported to other Southeast Asian markets.
Volvo Car USA and Starbucks to install charge points
Volvo Car USA and Starbucks want to establish a public EV charging network at Starbucks stores beginning this summer. The chargers will come through ChargePoint and bear Volvo branding. So far, the partners have designated 15 Starbucks locations and want to distribute 60 DC chargers.
EPA rates Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40 ranges
The US EPA has published its range ratings for the all-electric models Volvo XC40 Recharge and Polestar 2 with surprisingly low values: 208 miles (335 km) for the Volvo XC40 Recharge and 233 miles (375 km) for the Polestar 2.
