UK price cuts for Fiat and Abarth EVs
FIAT has said that the price reductions come just ahead of the UK launch of the Grande Panda and, later this year, the new 500 Hybrid. In fact, FIAT stated that the cuts are intended to bring the starting price of the Fiat 500e in line with that of the Grande Panda; ditto with the Fiat 600e and the Fiat 600 Hybrid 136hp version.
What this looks like in practice: the Fiat 500e now starts at £20,995 thanks to a price cut of £4,040 on its original £25,035, something that Fiat says makes it ‘one of the most affordable fully electric city cars on the road today’. The 600e has seen a price reduction of £3,285 and now starts at £26,750; while the Abarth 600e starts at £3,995. For reference, the OTR price of the Grande Panda electric Pop starts at £20,995; the Icon version at £21,995; while the top-end La Prima begins at £24,035.
Victoria Hatfield, marketing director of FIAT UK, said: “FIAT is passionately committed to making electrified driving more accessible to customers, and with this new pricing structure for our fully electric line-up of vehicles we are starting the new year by making this transition more affordable and straightforward for drivers.”
UK deliveries of the Grande Panda were originally scheduled for April 2025, but these were recently pushed back to March of this year. Fiat attributed this to ‘significant demand’ in left-hand drive markets, which it said impacted the start of production for right-hand drive models for the UK.
The electric Grande Panda runs on a 44 kWh battery and an electric drive that delivers 83kW for a range of up to 199 miles. The hybrid runs on a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a 21 kW electric motor.
